Any more 'naming' is going to result in warnings/infractions, so please don't!

Re: bought a gun turns out its broken but paypal wont help
To be brutally honest, with these threads you generally only get the view from one side.
I have seen this sort of thing come up before when it was the buyer who was actually responsible for the issue (I'm not saying that this is the case here, just making the point)
It really is between you and the seller, if he has offered any redress at all, you should seriously look into taking up the offer, failing that it can then be a long and rocky road that might just end up as a waste of time

Re: bought a gun turns out its broken but paypal wont help
Put up the original sales thread so we can see how it was advertised.
Then ring the CAB - Citizens Advice Bureau - they helped me out a lot when the asshat know as Mark from S.A.S tried to steal money from me.
It was only £50 but they still helped me and I got all my money back.
Make sure from now on you keep copies of everything, texts, phone logs, emails both to and from him, a copy of the sales thread and any thing else you can think of.
Do you have his address? If so then from now on only contact him via Recorded/Signed For Royal Mail keeping a hard copy yourself aswell as the tracking information.
Usually sending a letter stating that you will be taking him to court over the problems caused is enough to sort it all out.

Bit difficult to give the sales thread without naming the seller
Good advice otherwise

Re: bought a gun turns out its broken but paypal wont help
who named it as a gun on paypal? you or him?
ive just got over an issue with a gun, but i never once referred to it as a gun, so it all went through smoothly.
if the paypal transaction was funded on a credit card, you can also get a refund that way.
lastly, you mention if you get it fixed you will sell it. why is that? surely if you go to the trouble of fixing it, you then get what you want, a fully working gun surely??

Very good point as paypal do stipulate that they will not accept dispute claims for certain items.

Fix it, move on. If you had that much money to play with, and you obviosuly don't understand/accept the dangers of the second hand market - why didn't you just buy new.
At least that way you'd have some go-back ability.

Re: bought a gun turns out its broken but paypal wont help
I know for a FACT that gun was 100% working and serviced before sending out. (I was even present when it was returned to the retailer at the British Airsoft Show for servicing.) What you have failed to inform people is that paypal sided with the sender because he was backed up by the retailer who did the work on it and serviced it before it went out and it was 100% working on sale.
I'm not calling you a liar Chris or you wouldn't have made this post but I can categorically tell you it was serviced by a company who specializes in them these and it was working on postage.

Was it a CTW perchance?
section 24 of the 1968 Act
Supplying imitation firearms to minors
1)It is an offence for a person under the age of eighteen to purchase an imitation firearm
2)It is an offence to sell an imitation firearm to a person under the age of eighteen.

Re: bought a gun turns out its broken but paypal wont help
So whats up with it? Did it ever work?
If it was a gun i really wanted, id be happy for the seller to pay for it to be fixed.
After reading that it was recently serviced, id be happy for even half the money for replacement parts.
Maybe talk to the company that serviced it?
Whats wrong with it? I mean is it something like a v bad shim job that has caused problems... Or a piston stripped, which i just see as one of those things that happen (unless its stripping them v quickly.)

Re: bought a gun turns out its broken but paypal wont help
pope as i said to the seller i have no doubt the gun was working however it was obviously not fielded properly they probably put one mag through it and said it was fine. i put one mag through it to chrono and it started seizing and locking. the retailer said they had checked it properly however from experience i know several people that have sent guns to them for repair etc and received them back non functioning. im not saying that the seller knew it was broken im simply saying it was when i received it. meaning surely i am entitled to a refund. however the seller is refusing to refund me and just saying i need to send it to the retailer so although i think this is unfair and frankly wrong i have no chose but to just get it fixed myself.

Bet you wish you had taken him up on the offer to have it repaired now, as you have no other avenue to explore now I'd either be as nice as possible and see if he will extend the offer of repair again, probably at no cost to yourself apart from postage because he will probably return it to the retailer that serviced it in the first place.
Or simply take it on the chin and either repair it yourself or sell it as faulty.
You seem to have jumped in with both size 11s and ended up coming off worst.
