New Sniper, target practice
21 December, 2008, 15:59
Hi all,
Well as the title suggests I wanted to try out sniping and have a warrior L96. My question is where or what did others do to practice/zero in your scopes before you started skirmishing with it?
Thanks a lot in advance

Re: New Sniper, target practice
With my PSG-1, I start shooting at tin cans on the back of a trailer from about 15-20 meters.
After I'm sure it's firing good, I go about 40 meters and try to hit them. Tins plus the right amount of distance I find is ideal.

Cool thanks, where do you actually do it? my garden is nowhere near long enough and I'm not really sure about wielding a sniper rifle in a public place (e.g. field, carpark etc even if they are completely deserted!) lol

Here's my PSG-1 shooting before I fully upgraded it. This is how I usually shoot and adjust distances:

It's Ground Zero. Sadly not, I did ask but I cant use their range without being on a paid skirmish day and as I'm new I don't really want to pay to go on a skirmish with a rifle I've never fired at any distance before! (me thinks I would die a lot and not hit anything!
) lol

Not at the moment, although I wonder if I could use that as an excuse to my wife to let me spend another £100 so soon... "darling, I'm just going to buy another gun so that I can set the other one up to use..." *SLAP*
hmmm maybe not lol

Re: New Sniper, target practice
I don't have a dog, but my sister does so could borrow one! :D lol, are there laws against having a even an airsoft gun on public land? I don't wanna be shot because an eagle eyed walker has spotted me with a rifle shooting cans!
Could try the farmer trick, hadn't thought about that...
Thanks for all the suggestions by the way

Re: New Sniper, target practice
You mention that GZ is your skirmish site, but that they wont let you use their range whilst you're not on a paid skirmish as you're new to them. Sure not that new, you HAVE done your "3 skirmishes in 2 months or more" in order to get your UKARA so you can actually buy the gun right?
As Phat says, go pay to skirmish and then use the range before hand, or you could even pay to join a skirmish and spend your time on the range accurately setting up the gun rather than playing. It will be money well spent...
