Yeah mate, AEGs are pretty resilient bits of kit! Even though I'd personally be wary of fully submerging my precious aegs, I'd be confident in using them again in the rain.

I've used my AEGs in all weathers. I played in a 12 hour milsim and not joking, every type of weather possible happened no joke.
The guns I used were AA L85 and A&K M249; both of which have pretty exposed connectors and what not. Absolutely fine, just dryed the water and cleared any rust
And my friend fully submerged his ICS MP5 by accident in a stream, it still fired when it came out and still fires today

AEG's are electric, not electronic.
They will work in the wet, google vfc scar or the hk417 water test for proof. While it is not good for them they will work.
Although if you have a mosfet fitted I would seriously avoid water like the plague because mosfets are electronic devices and really dont like water.

First game i ever played was in very heavy snow
being up in the hills it covered everything in about an hour
very cold, but an awesome experience

to ecoh what evryone is saying yes we do play in the rain! as for guns i submerged the front half of my m4 ... just took the inner barrel out removed the hop and gave it a good clean. worked fine
