Re: S.U.S.A.T on an SLR?
Ah, OK. After reading the thread fully it seems certain that it was just that.

Re: S.U.S.A.T on an SLR?
I was going to say until fizzy put a pic up to prove it, the Paras used them in the Falklands as marksmans rifles, limited numbers but was used, so Hawk unfortunately you have been misinformed. There are other pictures around of this configuration too.
Pictures of a friends dad who was a pathfinder in the falklands also used this configuration.
Id say the SLR/FAL would look better with a S.U.I.T sight, but it might not look too bad with a SUSAT, its only the purists who will cry really.
section 24 of the 1968 Act
Supplying imitation firearms to minors
1)It is an offence for a person under the age of eighteen to purchase an imitation firearm
2)It is an offence to sell an imitation firearm to a person under the age of eighteen.

Mk1 eyeball - I like it! :D
Edit: OK, cheers Sean.
I've never heard of a kitesight though...?
Edit: Google returned a night sight, is that what you were talking about?
It's huge!

Out of interest: Would a real-steel top cover fit an airsoft SLR?

I've also seen guys on foot patrol in NI using them (I think they were RGJs) possibly to counter IRA snipers?

Re: S.U.S.A.T on an SLR?
Could always go the extreme extreme.
:D:D:D:D
Id say stick with a S.U.I.T or just stay on ironsights, could always fit a small scope to it, so it stays with the clean lines and keeps it fairly in keeping with the rifle.

Re: S.U.S.A.T on an SLR?
Must resist...must resist...!!!
I'll keep it with ironsights for now and I'll probably get a S.U.I.T when I've got a bit more cash floating around.
Unless someone's selling a SUSAT at a ridiculously cheap price at the weekender - that'd be too tempting. :D
Thanks for all the help!

Re: S.U.S.A.T on an SLR?
Suits were used in NI. Many of my mates pics show them being used during 70/80s .
I decided to stick with irons on mine
