Re: Things i need for airsoft...

I started a few months ago and my kit only consits of the following

    VFC Scar-H
    4 mags

    Spas12 shotgun with 4 shells

    2 batterys
    charger
    boots
    glasses
    camo trousers
    green t-shirt
    army jacket

thats all I need and use tbh, works well and its cheap

you DONT have to spend alot to enjoy it, you DONT need a fancy vest or a top of the range gunbag. I got my camo gear from a army surples shop for £30 all in. Shop around and buy what you can afford. Ive spent about £550 quid but thats on evrything I need. Anything else Is just extra now for me.

Ignore what other people say about your gear. I have learnt to play without a vest and just take 3 mags out with me, 1 in the gun and 2 in my trousers. Works just as well as a vest and at no cost

This isnt my only hobby so I have to split my funds between like 4 different hobbies so thats why its done on the cheaper side of things.

Re: Things i need for airsoft...

My best advice is get boots and eye protection and start playing. It'll soon become obvious what you need as you're playing, no 2 kits are the same at all.
E.g. You play a game and realise you don't have enough ammo with you: buy more mags.
You then realise you don't want the mags in your pocket: buy a vest that suits your game style. Etc etc. My first kit was boots, glasses and dpm shirt and trousers and now I have a wardrobe full of "essentials".

Also look at others people's kit and ask lots of questions. Most people are more than happy to show you what they have. Airsofters are all show offs when it comes to kit lol

Re: Things i need for airsoft...

          quick checklist
          gun
mags a couple of high caps
          two or more batteries
          a sling
          decent boots
          eye protection
          good socks
bb's decent ones not budget bb's or bio's
you don't need to spend a fortune to get started and buy a cheap gun as you first gun, you have no idea how they work so get something thats cheap reliable and easy to fix

i'd just add GLOVES to the list...

more so if you're playing CQB
you can guarantee to be hit on the little finger!
            don't have to be expensive

while you're at it, might as well pick up a shemagh too

neither of the above are essential, but i always wear both

              Ryan2t69 and his gloves..

Pair of Oakley gloves before even getting his gun up to scratch... Tut-Tut. that (£50 would of fixed the problem right away!)

look at chicom chestrigs. they are about 5 quid and the best vest you can buy for airsoft.

That or if youve got (or getting) an m4 you could get an SAAV, cheap, no need to shell out for extra pouches ect. Has room in the back for a water bladder (hydration pack). Theyre probably one of the best 'starter' vests. Ive just gone from mine to a templar assault vest, with a fair bit of warrior all over it. If you want a 'customizable' rig get a MOLLE rig. A certain auction site should help on that front. Or a warrior WRPC7 is a nice relatively cheap rig.

also you could think about knee pads, a lot of people myself included use them, as its really painful to kneel down on a stone, or even a bb can cause pain if you land on it awkwardly

                              Imma big hater of highcaps.
But you are right, for new ones to the sport, Hi-caps have the largest ammo capacity so you need less of them.
