yeah you would have to have diferent settings for diferent guns like a ak one evrey 500 rounds but a hk416 almost never

I think it varies. Some you remove the mag and put it back in, and if you want pull back the charging handle for more realism to try and free the imaginary round.

you can also get some which only allow you to fire 30 rounds or however much you set it to before you have to take out your mag and put it in again

Why would it be pointless. Jams on The L1A1 SLR were also few and far between but we were trained how to do it nevertheless. Just because they seldom jam doesnt mean you would not need to know how to do it. Since a lot of these systems are designed as training tools for armed forces it makes complete sense to me
