Re: Not UKARA Reg but member of site
most people wont sell to you without a ukara number. if your a member of a site print off an application and bring it to your site and get registered, if your over 18 that is.

"most people wont sell to you without a ukara number"
UKARA - United Kingdom Airsoft Retailers Association. IE only dealeres have a UKARA Number.
UKARA is nothing to do with VCRA it is a dealers scheme. All you need is proof of a defence, membership of a site is one such way, wether they are UKARA Registered or not. I am not a member of any such site but I still have the defence of being a regular skirmisher, it is just a tiny bit harder to prove.

Re: Not UKARA Reg but member of site
There is no such thing as a UKARA number, only a site membership number which UKARA use to run their database.
Less than 15% of our members have registered with UKARA and the retailers simply call or email to validate customers membership.
UKARA is NOT needed other than by the RETAILERS to make their life more simple.

What makes me laugh is when sellers on here state that ukara will be checked, and it never is - every time the ukara database is checked it sends and automated email to the person being checked

To be fair the UKARA scheme is a complete joke in its workings.

Are you sure?
I know mine's been looked up a few times at my local shop, but the only e-mail I've seen from UKARA has been about renewal.

Re: Not UKARA Reg but member of site
I brought several RIFS prior to joining UKARA by using my site membership number. The site manager would just validate me over phone or email

Indeed, I know mine was checked when buying a WA Kimber but I received no e-mail
As for buying from Z1, you'd have to ask them if you can buy a RIF without UKARA registration.

Re: Not UKARA Reg but member of site
yes z1 accept site membership for purchasing rifs (such as the swap p.a.s.s)
the only 2 uk shops i have come across that don't accept site membership are in London and Peterborough.
so stick to z1 and you should be fine

Re: Not UKARA Reg but member of site
Being registered with UKARA is only one of a few ways of being eligible for purchasing a RIF.
Being a member of a site is fine, as it proves that you are a regular skirmisher and are of the appropriate age (18, and depending on whether the site employs under 18 membership schemes). If you can prove that you are a regular skirmisher than that is a valid defence.
