Suggestion for the Forum

Can i offer this suggestion without it being deleted? I have read the rules in the last 15mins and it does not break any of them in my view.

As we all know recent events have been a shambles and handles extreemly unprofessionally. So I beleive that the moderating team should be dispanded, the forum closed (while the owners resolve the problems that this forum has), then new moderators selected by a process of application, and after that is all done reopened. Does anyone aggree with me or am i the only one who is disapointed?

This is not a personal attack on the moderating team it is just i have been discusted by the way things have been handled in the past.

Far better to ban all the moaning members in my opinion.

Been watching the threads over the last couple of days and the mods seem far more restrained than some members whining, creating new pointless BORING threads. Should sack you all off to be honest.

It's a classic case of forum (self proclaimed) big wigs getting their nose out of joint, feeling the community couldn't possibly live without them, and so the rules and infrastructure must change to suit. Load of carp

So in summary, no i don't agree with you?

I think the mjority of the moderating team are doing a good, job and i dont think many people would keep up with the amount of problems that arise. Tbf i am mainly talking about Sci fi Steve and the amount of warnings he has to issue due to the classifieds section.

Although i do wish they would take our advice into consideration rather than dismissing as they always do.

Everyone on the forum only wants whats best for the forum, and the continued support of this airsoft comunity.

In my opinion, and no doubt many others, this forum is the main and best airsoft forum, be it due to the simply huge amount of people whome use it, or the support of those that actually know what theyre talking about when they give advice that many other forums simply do not have.

To end, i do not agree with the above statement, however i DO think that our advice to the moderators and staff, needs to be heeded and actually listened to! Otherwise they will find the people who support this forum, and make it what it is, will leave.

if we did that, what would people who rely heavily on this forum do in the meantime?

it really is just one of those things were we all just swallow our pride and quarrels and get on with life in my opinion!

Been here over a year, not as long as a lot but i'd say long enough to form an opinion. I generally just lurk because i had all sorts of problems with the security tokens and logouts, can't be arsed to login.

I read a lot and actually had quite a high opinion of some based on their helpful posts. To me this childish behaviour belittles all of that. I'd say the classifieds is what keeps this forum going. To me that seems the most active and it's large base of users who buy and sell is it's unique selling point, i don't think that hangs in the balance by a handful of pre-madonnas.

Perhaps you misunderstand, i'm talking of those posting "Mods are unfair, they've banned so and so because he broke the rules, fascists".

I don't see that as the majority of helpful people on here, my point was they see themselves as the lynchpin of the forums, they clearly aren't.

Plenty of people to help little bobby with his blown fuse, life goes on.

I disagree, i believe this was a long time coming, and a welcome wake up call for the moderators, to hopefully listen to the forumers and provide us with more information on there actions.

I have met a few of the mods and they are really nice people who believe it or not have lives!
They all work their hardest to maintain the forums in their spare time and sometimes they will do things that people disagree with but no one's perfect.
Nothing is keeping you on this forum if you don't like it there are plenty of other forums you can join.
I don't see why the whole forum should completely change because a few people don't agree with something that has happened.
We are all human here so we will naturally make mistakes but just cut the mods some slack.

Sorry Nick, but I think you're going to be dissapointed. While the mods here don't tow the old "My house my rules" line ASCUK used to, I really think what went on was blown out of all proportion and people used it as an excuse to attack the mods.

Sorry, but I'm with ethics on this one. The forum won't die, what utter tosh. People come, people go, it's been happening for years. There used to be some very knowledgeable contributers on here (Thorbard, Alfer, Scarclaw, Jan, LordHoldsworth, Branny, Jesus (now part time)) to name a few. They haven't been around for years and the forum's still here...

A tough job being a mod I think ,open for criticism,unloved and busy I suspect..I've had my fair share of experiences with them both good and not so good(I won't say bad 'cause most of the time I've made an error)..
I think they have bad taste in transport though..them scooters are cr8p.....taking this seriously......doh..

Try reading the sticky on the forum feedback about the token problem.
