As for getting shot that's fine. I have got shot plenty wearing a hi vis so I'm sure I will get shot a million times more! You could go the James Woods from Salvador route. That look is a very cool one.

You could go along the Ross Kemp in Afghanistan route.
Tan Trousers and Shirt with a Dark blue plate carrier, Slap the words 'PRESS' across the middle and job's a good'un!

Or buy a cheap black plate carrier style thing spray it blue, tape some white paper with PRESS on it, on the middle and there you have it.
