Well I've been offered a very worn and smelly Mk4 Osprey by my nephew who now has 2 sat under his bed, and the best part, he wants sweet FA for it :D
I will be fu%*^d if I'm gonna let any jobs worth know it all put me off this opportunity
Only downside is I have to wait 3 months for him to come back from Canada!!!

Re: mk4 osprey legality?
Iv seen a fair few "tan" osprey vests for sale in a couple of surplus stores but no MTP versions.
There only £100 aswell with pouches.
Looking for a Harris style Bipod with 20mm RIS mount.

Re: mk4 osprey legality?
None of the gear is illegal, except maybe plates because of their classification, it was only ever MTP that wasn't going to be available to manufacturers to make repro/replica/knock off gear.

Re: mk4 osprey legality?
no.... you can now legally buy a version made by solo, agreed, they did design it, and are now out of contract with the Army, so can now sell their version, the army bought the design, changed it (for the worse) and had it made elsewhere in mass, what your buying second hand is still not legal to buy, if it has been issued.
Do I care? no, i'd buy one again
(and sell it again!)

Re: mk4 osprey legality?
TBH, if its just the cover and no plates then I think the MoD Police have better things to do, if it is illegal (as said before the tan ones are for sale) which I do not think it is. The whole MTP legality from a while ago has basically been ignored and now there's loads of it for sale everywhere.

Re: mk4 osprey legality?
There is a replica of them for sale now, looks pretty close from what I've seen.

Re: mk4 osprey legality?
DDPM stuff is completely legal as its not current issue and has long been written off the books.

Re: mk4 osprey legality?
Isn't desert kit still being issued for Cyprus? I know some of our lads who went with 3 PWRR were issued desert kit this year and last year.

Re: mk4 osprey legality?
I don't know of anyone being issued it anymore. Even MPGS are being issued MTP now.
Also if the guy left in 96, that makes it S95, we had S2000 after that so 95 is completely obsolete as is 2000.
