Yeah not sure what I was saying there, as it is the same array of colours.

Pretty much. All the colours are fairly pastel shades. Mainly a sand/tan, light(ish) green & light(ish) brown.

When I say light, this is in comparison to say the green on DPM, which is a much bolder shade.

there are two versions of MTP , you have the lighter shade which they are using in on op tours ie afghan , so will be a lighter khaki version

then there is the dark MTP that is taking over the 95 dress so wil be darker and alot more greener which the top UBACS in th OP's post is

            Re: Genuine mtp?

nope , it was on the video of the press release,

the RM officer had on the Greener version then the troops behind had on the desert issue kit

its just the same for dpm and ddpm , most proberly MTP and MMTP :p

but there is DEFFINATLY two sorts,

            one lighter for deserty ops
            one dark for jungley ops

            PROOF http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EzkpeucfNxw

FORWARD TO 0.12 officer in dpm in middle mtp on left and right

                    Re: Genuine mtp?

yes but there are two version , one for replacing the dpm and one replacing the the DDPM style ,

as the desert MTP is NEAR impossible to tell apart from the china made knock off to multicam battle trousers bar more whirly bits

the Darker gear is alot more green

bravo2zero has seen both sets due to a few lads from the RAF who deployed last week came and played in the desert mtp, and couldn't split between multicam , then there is the greener on on the film

                      What's your source?

To be honest, the whole point of MTP is one camo for all.

source is the MOD , seen and worn pairs

RAF -crofty , and parky who played airsoft before being deployed at sabre force, we even played with a whole lot of PRR , picture is on the "in action thread "

                            Re: Genuine mtp?

No he doesn't he says up until now there has been 2 terrain specific camouflages, one optimized for woodland one optimized for desert.

You dont get a MULTI terrain camouflage and then run 2 which is why they are retaining DDPM in the stores.

In the Video the three on show are MTP, DPM and DDPM.

There is only one MTP pattern using the Cyre pallet and DPM pattern.

No there isn't , there are two ,

would be pointless having a desert shade in a jungle operation , whoa bright clothes shoot,

the one in the vid is the darker one , the desert one is more light colours so paler browns and greens ...

we've had both sets at our site

                                Re: Genuine mtp?

                                What MOD source though?

If there are two, then they must have different names or codes. How else would you order kit? As already shown in the video, the camos are MTP, DPM and DDPM (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/8422942.stm). No mention in any MOD press releases either to two patterns. Infact, there has been no other mention anywhere (to my knowledge) of two MTP patterns.

The only thing I can think is the ability of Multicam (and MTP!) to "absorb" the colours around them. You'll see MC looks darker again dark backgrounds, and lighter against light backgrounds. As shown in the picture in post #7 against desert, and the BBC video against a British park bush.

It is also worth pointing out that various markers of genuine Multicam do have slight variations on shade, but it is still one camo, and not sold as a variation.
