riot officer
14 May, 2011, 08:44
Im thinking of doing some kind of military riot officer.
So far ive thought of :
Mk6 with riot visor
Some kind of riot sheild (either made or bought)
DPMs
Belt Kit (2 double ammo pouches and 3 utility pouches)
M500 spring shotgun
What do you think?

Re: riot officer
Roi sheild - Im thinking of getting a cheap body board ripping off the covering, cut out a smalll rectangle and put a small piece of plastic in there. Then ill buy two grab bars and attach them to the back and paint it.

Re: riot officer
you can get hold of a ex police riot shield from a certain bidding sight near the bay. £50 with free postage.
just looking at some of the descriptions to find this "The shield is suitable for Airsoft / Paint Ball / Crowd Control / Security and many other uses, we even have some customers who use riot shields to heard cows on a farm." It's just the last bit that gets me :D

Google "British army Norther Ireland" and you'll get loads of images to base this on.

Re: riot officer
SA80, MP5 or G36C would do the trick.
If you're looking to get a sidearm use a P226 or maybe even a High-Power.
Baton Gun/Less Lethal weapon would set it off.. try a HK69A1

Re: riot officer
The way you described making a riot shield would be more a ballistic shield, which far as I'm aware the British Army don't use. Ebay would likely be the better option. Is the loadout you're looking for vaguely current, or NI era? The latest NI pictures I've seen of British army in riot gear were from 2002.

Thats a potential reference too. Note the padding at the back of the Mk6 helmets. and SA80 really is the weapon you want, I can't really see why the British Army would be using anything else rifle wise. If you want a shotgun though, surely it has to be a Benelli M4 ala Afganistan.

MP5 because I saw some armed police at a train station after that bus blew up so it seems appropriate, but G36... No idea :D

Re: riot officer
Armed police use the MP5 and G36c, but the military don't, atleast not for crowd control.
Really depends how accurate he wants to be, just need to google to get NI and Iraq crowd control pictures for the British army, if that's what he is after... DPM and Mk6 suggests so, as do the fact it is in the British loadout thread and Majik always seems to ask about British Army loadouts (Nothing wrong with that, just an observation).
