Loadout Advice
15 June, 2011, 11:28
Hi All.
Below is my loadout, and I am looking for some advice on how to improve it. I'm not going for any specific look, but I guess you could call it a PMC loadout... but that just makes me sound lazy! Any advice on headgear would be greatly appreciated.
I have 2 UJ patches on their way for the arms but I'm stumped for what patches I should get!

Re: Loadout Advice
Well, as it's not really a PMC loadout, isn't anything really, and you're not going for anything specific, then I'm not sure what advice anyone can give. However, the belt looks like it came from your cargo pants, so you might want something a bit more rigid.
As for headgear (as with anything) it's all down to personal preference. I could suggest going with a IBH helmet, but if you don't like helmets...

Re: Loadout Advice
Looks awesome so far! I'd maybe swap the OD leg holster for a black version or an ACU one and attach it onto a platform belt to stop the sagging.
Headwear wise, depends on your skirmish site really, the hat at the moment would be fine I guess for cqb but you could go for a plain black boonie or black helmet.

Fizzy you are right with the belt - a new one is on the way but hasn't yet arrived so I had to improvise. I understand what you mean by the lack of direction making advice difficult, if it helps I'm looking more for advice like "maybe this sort of holster would be more ideal" and "maybe these boots", or "scrap the lot and go for the terrorist look" with a hilarious link attached

Aaron, thank you. Any belts or types of holster you would recommend? Seen a few belt holsters (dont drop onto the leg) which are interesting but have no experience of what they are like...
Any helmets you would recommend?
Thanks for the comments so far guys

Re: Loadout Advice
It looks ok, but is it for CQB, woodland or both? If it's anything to do with woodland I'd want more green/brown
I would recommend a MICH or IBH helmet. Have a look (Google & Retailers) for various choices in style and colour
As for the boots, they look fine

Mainly CQB, woodland would be keeping the BDUs but the vest would be swapped for a DPM Webtex vest that the BA issue atm.
And the boots are great - nice and comfy :D

Re: Loadout Advice
MICH or IBH helmets, as recommended above would be my personal preference.
As for the belt, Zero One sell various "Viper" belts that'd do the job, they're currently out of stock of the "G-Tac" Leg Holsters though. A quick google search could be in order too.

And that's the key issue right there. As much as we can recommend you everything under the sun, what suits me for example, might not suit you, for various reasons. Still, it means there's a health second hand market

True, but that's why it's called advice
You've lost me on the second hand bit?

Re: Loadout Advice
Well, people buy kit, find it's not suitable, and it ends up in the classifieds on here

Ah, thought you were having a dig at me... Had a look at the helmets, whats it like running around with one on all day? Doesn't it get heavy?

Re: Loadout Advice
They can be clumbersome, depends how they fit to be honest. If you do go for one, make sure the chin straps and padding on the inside make it feel secure enough and you get used to it.

Re: Loadout Advice
Depends on the helmets. The cheaper ones tend to be thinner and lighter, which is actually better

Re: Loadout Advice
Second that on the holster. The OD one looks very out of place and really chunky on your leg. Otherwise I like the loadout. It's unusual but it looks pretty good
