I have a Grossdeuchland impression too. Standard Heer groundpounder.

            Thanks Ghost, fantastic looking gear.
Would you be able to PM with where you get most of your gear from?

Isn't that an SS panzer wrap though? The lapels give it away as the army ones folded far closer to the neck and had far smaller lapels. I'm fairly sure I can see the totenkopf skulls on the lapels too, although that is harder to make out :/

Either way great looking kit, and how well does the map case work as a mag pouch? Capacity etc.

No its Heer cut. The most noticable difference is the lower edge of the left flap on the Heer version is angled whilst the SS model is vertical.
The Totenkopf insignia was used by panzer units long before the formation of the 3rd SS division. It dates back to Prussian hussars in the 18th Century.

Thanks! The map case is a little impractical. It has capacity for 4/5 MP40 magazines side by side, but it swings around something fierce at any more than a jog. I improvised a leg strap using some leather cord, which stabalises it quite a lot, but its far from a "field kit" .

a few photos of the sevastopol game this weekend, shows what impression you get with so many people in good kit, it really made the game, but dont be put off joining in this was an exceptional turn out and lesser kit is fine.
