Youll have to choose! Looks, or practicality?
I put toogether an entire Russian Winter Troop outfit, then ditched it as I realised I couldnt carry all the stuff I wanted!

Re: 70s russain soviet loadout
More of an 80's era Afghan look, but start with this.
The suit is a KZS. THe vest is a 6B3. The boots are nothing fancy, use whatever you like.
If you want a helmet, get a SSh-68 (M-68), a lot of Russian kit sites sell them for cheap.
The weapon is my AK-74M. That is before I bought wood grips and a skeleton stock for it in Russia. A little out of place the way it looks in the picture. If you're getting a weapon, get an AK-74 with wood furniture to match the loadout.

Progressive airsoft always welcomes a new recruit (or is that conscript
)!Are you planning to go for something accurate or just kit that looks cool? Summer or winter? Will you be wanting camo or will you be happy with standard issue Khaki?
My 70s VDV kit in case you missed it. Or maybe it inspired you?! :D

Re: 70s russain soviet loadout
I'd put the earflaps up, makes it look a bit comical.
I don't understand why you have a Romanian AIMS, but to each his own, I guess.
Other than that, just put the earflaps up, and it's pretty bad-ass.

Umm... because I had it? :S
Also, I broke the strap that you tie the two ear flaps up with, so that was a no go, plus it keeps the ears warm in the cold!
