Have you contacted the seller?

Probably an easy fix but if he didn't advertise as borked then
you shouldn't have to fix it

Re: just brought a gun off forum
If your OK installing a new motor, then just get him to send you a new motor of the same quality or better. By the time he's paid you to send it back, and then return it fixed, it probably isnt worth it for him!

Irrelevant.
I'd request a refund from the seller (as its likely that he/she knew about the fault prior to sending) then once received send the gun back. I take it you paid via PayPal??

Smoke will mean a short of some kind, most likely the battery try another see if it works and that you connected the battery to the correct terminals.
Also check also electrical contacts for ware or damage.
Eiter way contact the seller. If it arrived faulty then it is the sellers responsabillty to solve the problem. I assume you have paid via Paypal?

Re: just brought a gun off forum
The other posssibility is that is might be one of the Chinese guns witrh the reversed plug on the battery lead...........
If the buyer used his own battery this might cause the smoke when the trigger is pulled.
