Only that year's production, thus limited supply and prone to a seller's market I bet a 2012 coin would fetch much more next year, especially considering the apocalypse

        Re: Is it me or...

So I think we can all agree, most of us start with an asking price higher than we expect to get for haggling and offer room.

Most people are unrealistic about what a well used item is worth if it is not rare or much sought after.

Yet equally same people are always after a bargain and moaning about things costing too much.

Simple answer is most people are greedy.

So I propose the reason why items are commanding so much used is essentially people are greedy.

Yeh, used a bad analogy there but it's not for you to decide how the forum sales work or how the markets in general are run, that's just the way it is.

Why? If you don't want to go lower then the buyer will either give you what you want for it or move on- I hardly think there's room for personal issues here (unless you chase them down with a stick afterwards, which sounds odd). I just don't see what people have got against haggling. At the end of the day, it's down to how genial both parties are and how badly the seller wants to get rid and how much the buyer wants it. The entire point of markets and places like Stoneleigh and the War And Peace Show are so people can pick up "bargains". The same could be said of the forums.
I personally may offer lower because I don't think it's worth what the person is asking for it. If on revaluation the person agrees then it's a bonus! If they get sniffy and tell me to do one then I will and someone else will get my money. Strictly speaking (by the non-hagglers amongst us) no-one will have lost out on this scenario because the buyer gets a lower priced item from another party, a third party gets the sale and the original seller will get someone who gives them what they want (unless they are just being sniffy in which case no one will deal with them unless they lower their price).

Anyway, people will sell, people will buy and people will try to haggle- It's none of my business what people do with their own money, let them spend it how they please!

The only thing that no one has added to the equation is that new guns come with warrantys and guarantees on them . So to see a relatively new ish gun for sale above or very close to the retail price is absolutley taking the mick if it is second or third hand . A retailer near me is giving a year on combat machines and two years full warranty on top techs and some g& p guns . Why most people would even consider buying battered an used guns with god knows how many bodge up repairs on them is totally beyond me !!!

Whilst I don't mind people haggling, I HATE it when you set out the maximum you can discount (I'm talking in context of work here) and the buyers is still persisting for more, no matter how many times you've told them you cannot.

I know where you mean - which means you're going out of your way to avoid a nearer retailer!

Simple, everyone should have a system setup called 'your item is worth' in which you use calcualtions based on age / accessories / damage and then the final price is what you would get.

But hey, this forum is used as a offload your £$%^ kind of place anyway, so expect all sorts of crazy prices from £50 for a new TM pistol to anything above £100 for a used WE.

68 Pistols and counting in over 8 years of airsoft.
