Just get a dump pouch to carry the colemans into a skirmish
This is what I do, a 5.11 dump pouch comfortably holds a Coleman cylinder or one of the taller, narrower plumbers propane tanks. If I'm wearing a backpack the propane tank goes in there instead.

Much easier to leave the propane bottle in the safe zone IMO, I can carry plenty of gas in the gas charger

Hmm this stuff is rare...how many shall I buy ;-)
£8.00 per can or £7.20 with the store discount card isn't too bad.

Re: Propane - Is it still cost effective?
cost efective??
Madbul adapter around £20
Mac coupler around £20
Deposit for 20kg propane bottle £30
20 kg Propane bottle £30
Apparently you can fill around 40 colemans from that big bottle (in theory) but I stopped counting.
After initial layout it will cost you under £1 per bottle refilled.
I think it is cost efective.
Well, it is for me.
(the number are rough so don't pick on them)

Re: Propane - Is it still cost effective?
As what Forei says:
Got my large orange propane bottle, and adapter from ebay that allows you to fill colemans tanks up, an early metal AI adapter and pretty unlimited gas...
Only problem is it ABSOLUTELY STINKS. I'm not talking about the colemans smell - proper propane absolutely reeks.... worth it though!

Yes mate, it's exactly the same thing.
That's the sort plumbers use for blowtorches.
