i don't need a 62kg anvil but it still comes in pretty handy.

i never said they didn't have their uses in airsoft - i just don't think they are quite that necessary.

a good pair of binos would be better. - but i concur you then have the issue of carrying them - getting them out etc.

Wel I have real steel experience form the 70s early 80's with SLR's and I can say it does help with a 4x scope. Full power scopes are a bit more of a problem though and I don't think they are any use at all. As for Binos again only unless they are fairly low power. I have a pair of 16x50s and they are useles for airsoft, way too powerful. but my smaller 7x21's are perfect.

At GZ Urban it is a great help when moving up on buildings when playing as the attacking force. When the defenders are in windows and it is dark behind them it is very difficult to spot them. A little bit of magnification makes a world of difference.

right then its settled, I'll be keeping the Acog even for CQB...

I was just worried that everyone would be asking me why I have an Acog on a CQB setup.

But since some people here use the same setup I'll go for it. If things go bad I still have the top mounted red dot sighjt

Thanks everyone for all the opinions and sorry sahadow captain for getting drilled about the 100m thing lol :D

tbh get the acog, when you do cqb take it off and use irons or whatever. Having said that, RDS are useful in cqb so you may be better off getting an aimpoint aswell, they are cheap enough.

Re: CQB ... with an acog?

I have to admit the 4x is nice for seeing what people are up to. I find any magnification for firing too much. I struggle to find the target quickly enough at short distance.

My take on it is I don't engage at range because people see BBs coming, its also harder to score a hit for various reasons. It also gives away your position and intention (in milsims thats fairly important). A range fight usually means you're not going to take the entire team down at once, this allows them to withdraw or medic their guys out. It's basically a skirmish when you get caught travelling or in the open moving to or from an objective. You lay down suppressing fire and move in or out of contact so range combat should be short lived.

Most combat should be close to medium range which makes sure of the kill and prevents people being healed and escaping. Don't fancy walking for the kill cards some places use either lol The ideal contact is ambush taking entire teams out. A nice wide no magnification targetting system allows me to be accurate quickly at close range whether I'm the abusher or ambushee

We use the sniper for specialist long distance stuff and a small pair of binos for spotting.

As far as CQB goes you're in the room or clearing the room. So you're aiming at the doorway or you're running in and blasting. I don't find myself aiming that often with any accuracy and iron sites are fine for the length of an average corridor. I do stick a red dot on for looks though

If you're a lurker and don't move I guess its useful trying to pick of targets but at the front in the action I don't find magnification that useful especially in CQB.
