Re: Suspension of two tone service
I dont get why people are tieing in two tone rifles with young people?
As in, they arnt even allowed to buy them, if the kids had any sense they'd get thier parent to start up and do it the right way!

I guess you've not read the "Home Secretary can vary as appropriate" parts...
indeed i forgot that
still, the home secretary won't vary law at will. there will be consideration and deliberation before he would invoke this power. if the home office is aware of this loophole, as others have stated, it is likely it is being currently considered.

i can see what you meen , like my younger sister is only 15 and i take her to airosft and she has her own kit gun etc. i think thay should just be regd to the persion and id'ed like a number on them or like as in ics the number is used to you i think it is a much better way to do it and i know from some police who are woried about real guns painted grenn or blue ot whatever and it isonly a matter of time befor there is enuff of them with the colective brain power to think of it

Re: Suspension of two tone service
With this whole gifting thing seeming to crop up every so often....
If I was to obtain alcohol/porn/cigarettes and give them to a minor. I'd be arrested and charged with willingly supplying a minor with age restricted goods. And thus be demonised by any local rag that picks up the story. So why is it, (seemingly), perfectly legal to do the same thing with IF's?
The sooner this loophole is closed the better.

He'll consider it and deliberate long enough to work out how many votes they'll get for being seen to do something for the next election.

Indeed, and they will also work out how many of those whining and moaning are able to vote as well.

The problem with your "analogy" is that the law WRT RIFs isn't about "supplying a minor with age restricted goods", it's about "selling" to minors. "Sell" in the VCRA could very easily have been changed to "supply" with little opposition. I think that was deliberately NOT done because there was an intent to allow under-18s the opportunity to participate in the sport, but with adult permission/supervision, and for those already participating to continue.
If that is the case, it's not a loophole, but an intent.

Shops seem to think so.
A large retailer in Peterborough has stopped offering their red two tones and now only offers factory made clear ICS and CA ones.

Excellent news.
Looks like Z1 are still breaking the law though:
• All our guns can be painted in Two-Tone at no extra charge for non-registered players.
