The site (AWA Herts IIRC) did offer bang kills, but as there was 7 of them, he decided to shoot them instead as he said afterwards, he very much doubted they'd all take it before getting shot after shouting BANG 7 times... MOAN? Sheesh! I couldn't believe how much they decided to bitch & complain that he should have just bang killed them all instead.
Think I'd die of embarrassment if somebody managed to pop 6 team mates before I turned around!
Although that situation was screaming out for a grenade...

He didn't have a grenade, and they were all lying next to each other, not spaced out at all. Probably the easiest 7 kills anyone could ever get! Jammy git!

I wouldn't say newer or older players have X amount of padding .Its a game of shoot or be shot in my eyes ,so if you don't like it the your in the wrong game imo.

no bang rule at the local site, if you sneak up to them, ether rubber knife, or tell them to surrender, if they go an turn to shoot you, pop one in there back!

Re: Bang rule and red rag/dead rag ... yay or nay?
my local runs the knife kill whilstthe bang kill depends on if theres a large number of under 18's playing or not. persoanly i quite like sticking my rubber bayonette on my m16 and prodding em with that rather than a bang kill ( only happend once so far, tho not for the lack of trying). its all about sportsmanship in the end.

Bang rule yes, but only within touching distance and your target is unaware you are present.
I have never played dead tag but would love too.
If you ain't first, your last!

for general play im not a fan of the bang rulse. however when under 18s are involved this is one of the reasons i support the two tone rule for younger and new players. consider this, in stock car racing cars have a symbol to denote a newbie, people are expecte to behave in a certain way to that new or younger player.
I'm 17, been playing since my 16th Birthday, and do not and never will expect special treatment because of my age. Nor would I treat any new player differently in terms of shooting them.
They will learn to either pad up or live with the tiny bit of pain. It comes with the sport.

Its not just about you though, most people wouldn't want to shoot a kid point blank when it can easily be avoided with the bang rule. As to which in theory I think is a good idea, but like most things it gets abused with people taking the piss with how many they can "kill" or people not taking it, turning around and shooting you.

I don't see why people don't like the bang rule when they agree with the surrender rule, as far as I'm concerned their the same. You give the guy the chance not to get shot- as long as you actually have a shot then its fine! At my local woodland site neither is officially used but I personally use both. If you can get close enough to be within minimum engagement then you should be able to get close enough to touch them- with that in mind I always try to go for knife kills, If I'm 8ft away from someone and they turn around then I give them the chance not to get lit up by my pistol.
I don't think the problem is the use of the bang/surrender rule its the misuse of the rule.
Not sure about the red rag- at my site you just keep your arm up if your dead- as far as I'm concerned if your arm's not up you are a valid target!
because surrender rule isnt a rule, its a gentlemanly option both players have. The option to offer it and the option to take it if its offered, at no point is either one obliged to do anything other than play how they see fit

By playing they are accepting that they are going to get shot. Bang rule is all good and all but allows you to run into a room full of people yelling "bang bang bang" and "kill" them all, use the surrender.
If you run into a room full of 5 people, yelling bang bang bang, in reality, atleast 1-2 of you are going to be able to react the the noise, turn and engage you. It's stupid. Using the surrender is a lot more realistic in my eyes.

Agree with surrender, not with bang rules. Too much sticking your head round and screaming bangbangbang! Killing multiple people that wouldn't otherwise have happened.
E.g I and two others were bang killed my last time out (site had an enforced 10m bang rule) by a guy with 2 rounds left (he exclaimed this to us afterwards). Fudging stupid.
If you've got the drop and offer a bang kill fine, if they take it all good, if they don't you should be ready to pop a round into them - if they don't take the bang and hit you, well, more fool you IMO. If you're close enough a simple tap and 'knife kill' should suffice. If you've got the drop and don't offer it, it's easy enough to put a round into somewhere less painful (e.g a rig/dump pouch) rather than be a dick.

Re: Bang rule and red rag/dead rag ... yay or nay?
i'd rather be shot on semi or asked to surrender than hear Bang, it's just not ... words fail me but i'd rather the pain of a close shot in the back than Bang.the red flag is not a bad idea ,but "DEAD MAN WALKING " with a hand up is just as good and need's no props,if a sight hands out flags to every one then they wont get them all back, not deliberate theft but people just forget that kind of thing, who has not gone home once with a ground zero tag by mistake?

Bang rule:
I like the Mall's perspective on this. If you can shoot them, do so. Don't fudge about. EVERYONE is airsofting to shoot at and get shot at. If you're playing
you are fair game
.
I may offer a surrender. I may choose to surrender. I'm not going to TELL you you are dead.
Knife kills
Hate that some sites want you to call out knife kill. I think the rule should be yes hand up but stay silent. If you've been sneaky enough to get behind 4 or 5 players and want to take them all out then so be it.
Dead rags
I would like to see this introduced all over. Got a bollocking from some bloke when i shot him in the back as he was waiting for medic with his hands down. I was like dude, keep your hands up.
UCAP sandpit have you remove your arm band and put it on your head so people know. I also like the way they do 1st life armband on left and to medic your teammate simply has to swap it over to the right.
