Re: p90 most cost effective compact cqb?
hmmm, there is a fair bit of choice.
I have looked at mp5k before, not bad, but I like to shoulder my rifles and the Mp5k with a stock looks a bit weird (a bit like a pistol with a stock).
An Mp5 sd6 is nice, but my brother has one and it's nice to have something that isn't the same (as I can use his anyway on occasion).
ICS full metal sig 552 is in the mix atm, and a serious contender for me as I like the seal look and it appears to be much shorter than a normal assault rifle.
I've looked at M4 Stubby's but for me, if it's an M4, it has to be the normal length (something just doesn't look right for me in the stubby form).
P90 is a contender again, but it's knowing whether it will be comfortable, and the mag changes.
So atm, it's still really between the KS P90 (with a barrel and hop up change, as I want the upper metal reciever) and the ICS full metal 552.
Judging from Plage's input its P90 1 and 552 Nil, and you other guys seem to like the P90 to so it's looking likely.
Anyone else have any views on the 552 though?
Cheers,

In the reviews I have seen the only plastic parts are the usual, foregrip, mag, stock and grip? The Rails, upper and lower reciever / body, trigger, guard, safety / selector, sights, barrell, cocking lever and internals and of course gear box are all metal.

I seriously looked at the 551, but what put me off was the lack of cheap mid caps.

Sig 552 arent really compact compared to p90's and finding mid caps for them are an annoyance unless you want to run high caps or the TM low caps which are very expensive.

Re: p90 most cost effective compact cqb?
Isn't it!? Well perhaps the handguard, grip and stock are plastic, but the body is certainly hard metal, as standard.
My personal opinion is that the ICS model is a little highly priced for what you're getting. For a backup gun, do you really need something expensive?
Something I'm considering doing to one of my MP5's is getting a side folding, visor stock (expensive and quite rare) - now that'll look different, will be very small but still maintaining the ability to shoulder it!
It's a difficult one to say, but it's all personal preference.
One of the smallest rifle's I own, believe it or not, is my G&G LR-300S.... Think its smaller than a P90 with the stock folded, and it has the same length of inner barrel as the LR-300 long...

I'm almost certain King Arms do midcaps for the SIG series, if not MAG certainly do them.

Not always true, you might have a second P90 in the other hand :D Seriously do-able too, as the weight is at the back and they weight very little over all!!
Ah the perks of me and my misses having a TM P90 each :D (not fun reloading mind you :P )
