It looks a bit like it. I think that's the one off the Trijicon scope, yes?

The RM aren't the only ones adopting this! Where do you lot get your info from?
It's being rolled out to the guys on the ground on tour (the old "you'll get it in theatre" thing). Not too sure about units back here, there aren't a lot of ACOGs on issue at the moment. and the priority is to operational requirements.
The ACOGs seen on the SA-80's in theatre are the ones without the iron sights (or EBS depending what you want to call it) on the top (as wires pointed out).
Although if you get to see/play with a GMG, the optics they come with are ACOGs with iron sights on the top.

It's upto you, mate. Personal preference for me is the one with the EBS on top (iron sight)
But whatever yanks your chain, really.
I have a G+P Acog, and they're excellent. Dunno what STAR are like.

I'm no expert, but as far as I know the only sight with the illuminated X-hairs are the real deal ACOGs (the centre of the x-hairs glow yellow in low/no light).
I could be wrong though. About the replica ACOGs.

I have an ACOG replica on my M4A1. It allows me to use the iron sights and it has an illuminated red crosshair.
