What is so great about magpul?

well the title says it all. :p

i just dont get why people put magpul on their guns, it can't be to make them unique as everyone does it, it can't be for tactical use because we use guns with no real recoil (even GBBRs don't have recoil like a 5.56) and imho it's really really fugly!

so why?! :p

The parts are of a good quality, so they are quite tactile and feel nice.

Seriously though, although I hate M4s with everything on them, airsoft is about imitating real steel, so if you want it, go for it.

Magpul products improve weapon handling, and often look nice. Sure, a lot of people jump on the band wagon, but magpul stuff is highly functional. It wouldnt be as popular with real steel gun nuts (ie the USMC) otherwise.

P-mags. Real steel, they're very good quality magazines, light, easy to grip for fast reloads and dont jam as easily. Airsoft, the 120 round pts midcaps are arguably THE best midcaps you can get and they're lighter than metal mags.

MOE kits. Lightweight, allow mounting of accessories while not as heavy as RIS/RAS or regular foregrips. Easier to grip and intuitive to use.

CTR stock- compact, collapsible ergonomic stock. you shoot better if you're comfortable.

UBR stock- sliding stock designed to be as rigid as a solid stock. Greater accuracy.

AFG- angled foregrip designed for the optimum shooting grip on real steel rifles. Reduces wrist fatigue and gives greater control of recoil.

Because they like it? There's nothing more to it.

The company presents and markets itself well, very few others do, there's a regular turnover of new and exciting stuff and it's all readily available and reasonably priced.

not necessarily for uniquness but many people like to alter their guns to suit their tastes and styles, personalised really

tactical use? we cannot use tactics because our guns are not real? airsoft is basically a military simulation using realistic weapons and gear, if a real person can modify his m4 with whatever accessory in order to make it more comfortable, easier to aim, differnet configuration then we can do the same for the same benefit

now what i dont understand is the uncessisary whoring of magpul "omg omg magpul jizz jizz", kind of annoying behavoir but they make good products that have lots of engineering going into them
that last one is your opinion, i personally love some magpul stuff, such as their stocks and the MAID grips which are very comfy and better than stock m4 grips

im a magoul facist....well 'was' is the phrase. my mate had his all 'pul'd up and i quite like the stock and pistol grip. half of it is cash whoring pish though like that angled foregrip and traded body.....but the stock and grip get my vote as i liked the feel and build quality, but i if Aldi made the same stock i would buy it, i wouldnt buy something just because magpul made it. its all about practical use. i used to rip on magpul but to be honest there are bits out there that are good quality sturdy and ergonomic bits of kit....the rest is chris costa's balls jammed up himself and magpul wait to see what he craps out next they can slap thier logo on.....my 2 pence.

aah, i suppose i am just annoyed because people seem to buy magpul sometimes just because it has magpul on the label, which i find just plain odd to be honest.

on the tactics element i think i may have miscomobulated (i love blackadder) my point, what i was trying say was i felt that the main reason people used it was for tactical use, which would not be useful in an airsoft enviroment (ie things like the forgrips which are meant to counter recoil), although i accept now it is partially for tactical use and faster target aqusition.

thinking about it, i can kind of see why people do it, although i doubt i ever will myself! :p

Why so many M4s & M16s?
The reason there's so much Magpul stuff about is because it's flavour of the season, and airsoft's a fashion show. It's become very popular for real shooters and as Armalites are so popular it was inevitable it was going to show up in airsoft

Edit: I'm a fan of the stock and the grip too JJ, but I'd want to try out the stock first to see if I find it comfortable, rather than simply buying it because it says Magpul on it

To be fair to Chris Costa the man practically built a new martial art for guns. They redesign their products constantly because they listen to feedback from people who use it.
It's not just civvies with more money than sense in the states that use their stuff either- the US armed forces are starting to use P/E mags, and LE have been training with Costa and Haley since very early on. The sh*t works.

Edit: there's a crap of a lot of KAC accessories available for airsoft but I don't see anyone hating on them

i just find this argument strange, its like i added a " noveske fire pig" to a short barreled carbine because in real life they aid in cycling the bolt on a CQB m4, this was to "simulate" real world physics and weapon accessories, not because i needed it for airsoft

there are those of us out there that prefer doing up our guns and gear just as much or MORE than we do actually playing the sport
