Re: What connectors does everyone use?

ICS M16, switched to Deans today.

I haven't soldered in over a year so it took me maybe 20 minutes of faffing around (not helped because I couldn't find heat shrink) to do 3 connectors.

I didn't notice a major RoF increase but the trigger response is better.

I have tamiya on my aeg's and xt60's on the M14 DMR purely for trigger responce. reason for tamiya's is batt compatability with mates guns. xt60's on the LiPo and mosfet.

took me ages to solder the xt60's as i kept heating up the connector too much and pushing the wells through the body of the connector lol

I really didn't believe there'd be a difference, but I saw 1rps on my Marui AK74MN. Not much to write home about, but I've now switched everything over to Deans. Deans XT, to be precise, which are easier to grip. I took a battery that wasn't peaked (about 4/5ths charged), recorded the RoF in Audacity, then converted the gun and immediately recorded the RoF again... I don't trust claims of increased RoF if a battery's been charged in between tests.

A 40W soldering iron is very cheap, and ideal for soldering them... Draper do one, which you can get easily.
