(c)he sells a realistic imitation firearm; or

(d)he brings a realistic imitation firearm into Great Britain or causes one to be brought into Great Britain.

SO... by changing the handguard you are guilty of point (b)

I dont see any reason you cant buy a MOE and spray it green... may look a bit odd though lol

Is it lawfully considered manufacturing??? I know peoples own opinion and perception is that it could be seen as manufacturing but i've not read one piece of legislation to say that replacing a two tone hand guard with a black one is considered manufacturing. Its peoples perception confused with written legislation. lets not confuse the two.

ok thanks, i live in a small village and most of my neighbours have air rifles and i bought a bag off one of them recently and use it to go down to my dads lorry yard so no one sees it at all.

There is no age limit on manufacturing a RIF. Seriously, another flaw in the VCRA. As long as you are a frequent skirmisher you can make one completely legally.

But, if you aren't a regular skirmisher (which is up to interpretation, but I'd go with the UKARA definition of 3 skirmishes in no less than 2 months), then it's illegal.
