It was a concern admittedly. however with the lack of cqb i am sure many will happily accept it, even though the capacity is rather low. the site is currently unimproved i hope to add more fencing and build a killhouse in a clearing 200m behind the safe zone. i have also applied for night games. the site has a background sound PA system, strobe lighting and smoke machines (yeah, its pretty well designed for laser tag!) i hope to run mid week, night, springer and zombie style games to mix things up a bit. also a lot of the structures are semi-permanant so can be rearranged.

The oldage "It's not the size, but what you do with it" is very true (in an Airsoft sense anyway lol). Years ago, I used to head marshall the old FireFight Chatham site. It was definitely a small site, but you could do a lot with it. Why? Because it forces you to actually

what to do with what you've got - you simply can't be lazy and wing it when it comes to organising games.
One recommendation that I would make is movable obstructions and barricades. By chopping and changing them around you can change the dynamics of how the site plays quickly and easily, which will keep things interesting! I would also suggest restricting the ammo load as well. With an almost unlimited supply of ammo, mexican standoffs will end up stalling the gameplay. it's a smart move to restrict the number of players on a small site as well, and it looks to be perfect for specialist events such as Pistol and Shotgun only days and the like.

I am glad you pulled it up. I am still afraid of the "stand-off" between teams. I wanted to run a site where it was possible to have players break off and do rapid assaults. There didn't seem to be much of an issue but maybe I can really make things interesting with ammo capping.
Also there are a lot of semi-permanent structures that can be moved around on the day and before it.
With no machinery. One guy was moving metal beer kegs around on the test day to build his own cover :p
As well, I plan to have shotgun and pistol days. With lots of advanced warnings!
I plan to use M56 shotguns as basic hire guns so I recon they'll be fully booked out on those days!
At current, I forecast average player numbers at 20 per day. Which seems an ideal number. The site can cope with 30, but not quite so flowing game modes. Will have to impose ammo limits on those days to help the games flow!
Looking forward to opening. From my support (here, PM's facebook, direct contact) I have been compelled to aim for Aug 4th 2013 as an official start date. May not be the best equipped in terms of BBs, Gas and other consumables; but hopefully plenty of what counts!

As much ammo as you like, but no high caps. Midcaps only.
As they know not everyone has plenty of midcaps to spare they usually have a bucket of them that players can borrow from.
Might not be suitable for every time, but it might be a good way to mix things up. Best thing for me is that it slows things down enough for pistols and shotguns to still be useful, but people without those guns can still play.
Invest in a few boxes of the most common mag formats for people to borrow/hire (Since your site is low capacity player wise, maybe just poll the regulars on what they use? But I'd probably say something like 40x M4, 20x G36. That should be enough for 10-15 players. That would cover the two most common platforms as well as all derivatives.)

Thinking about this site more, I think you are going to need to run lots of short games, have some pretty tight regen rules and vary how many lives each side has according to the objective in addition to varying regen/start locations as much as possible, maybe even split a team into 2 or 3. If you are having 2 games an hour, people won't mind missing the last 5-10 minutes of a match as there will be somewhere in the region of 8-12 games in a standard day.
Ammo or mag rules are sensible as are pistols/shotgun only matches.

Yes I have tested and planned many interesting game modes with lives all accounted for.
Lots of short games, working against a clock games, low ammo limit games, side arm only games, and more than 2 team games too!
I have created a game mode called "Traitors" which didn't get a chance to be tested. Where each team has a "traitor" who is able to change their team tag at any time and if they want to. We play a normal medium-long game mode like CTF or Team Elimination, but inform everyone that a traitor is in their midst. SO now no one trusts anyone fully!
If the traitor senses a loss, they can sneak away, change tag and surprise their team mates! (The traitors are informed of being traitors several games before to avoid giving the game away!)

Looks pretty interesting from the pics and is defiantly the kind of site I would love to play at. For £75 rent and the much of the "infrastructure" already in place - pretty neat. I'd like to see more of these types of venue's around, even a few indoors ones for those long winter months - just think no wind and rain to contend with! There's dozens of empty warehouses around where I live (Kent) but I imagine the rents to be pretty high.

So my guns aint as pretty as yours, And dont fire as far as yours, and dont hit as hard, and are not as accurate, I dont care, Just means getting hits is more satisfying :3

Just a quick bump for this one.
I went along for the first evening/night game and I now understand that although the site is small, we had 16 players running around and you're not tripping over each other. There are choke points and there are places that can cause a stand off... BUT... Here is the big but... It just works. No idea why, but it just works.
Well worth the green fee and worth the 120 mile round trip for myself to attend. Definately a welcome change of pace from my usual diet of woodland and more woodland. Playing in the dark was epic fun too. Just enough light from the lightpoles in the industrial estate down the road to mean it isn't pitch black so you can pick your way around obstacles, but not too light to see someone hiding away and waiting for you to come at them. Isn't that right Luke?
(Nice try on the knife kills though... Sadly I was just too good for you) :p

The night game was great fun. One of the first skirmishes I got to play for a long while (the plight of running one...) and it was great Black Op fun!
Next time, flood lights are needed. To illuminate some areas, and cast shadows over others.
