I thought initially that it might be about guns and music, but then I read this tripe.

Go on then, I'll bite. Why exactly would you post this thread about a gun in a drain?

I certainly didn't read anywhere in the article about airsoft being banned?

I get that people are worried that this will bring on some sort of reactionary knee-jerk against our sport/hobby from wowsers in the media... but knee jerking in a reactionary manner at every report of mischief with a RIF/IF is not the appropriate response, and could be a sign of some neurological damage.

I propose a motion to chill.

I read "BB gun" and "air pistol" therefore I think 4.5mm .177 air pistol.

I don't see why potentially lethal weapons require less loops to jump through compared to airsoft..

We could sort this problem too, remove labels from bleach, let the gene pool sort itself out!

sorry late night spelling. :s but it just facinates me that the mention of "bb gun" brings the journalists in. and by the look on the photo it appears to be a 1911 or m9? so unless its an umerex im not thinking air pistol.

If this had happened back when I was a kid (all those years ago) the finder would have fished it out and had a look at it.
If it was real they would drop it into the local police station.If it was a bb gun it would have been cleaned up and given to the finders kids to play with in the garden.
I dont know what went wrong but Joe public needs to get a grip and stop acting like a load of frightened sheep.What ever happened to common sense ?.

I gotta be honest if I found a weapons cache down the local drain it's going straight into my armoury. Sure, it may have been used in some hideous crime, but not to worry, it's going to a good home now, where daddy will love it long time :D

I found a whole RC glider in a skip once - the thing had a two-and-a-half metre wingspan! Never found a gun, though - maybe I need to move to a rougher area.
