Re: 1911 Carbine conversion kit
I think that looks awful with a single stack 1911...
I'm assuming the whole hi-capa series will fit into this kit? - Then I may consider it! :D

oh great...another way to ruin a otherwise beautiful m1911.
I liked the Glock kit but this just doesn't work.

i disagree strongly it is really good and gives the pistol a stock so the blowback is more into your shoulder rather than your wrist so makes it more accurate etc. and it adds around 1kg which isn't that much really.

Quoted for truth.
Looking at that thing made me be sick a little in my mouth.
It's also utterly pointless on a single stack .45 colt in real steel and especially on an airsoft version.
The Glock version I can understand (for fully auto) because it takes a machine pistol that is hard to control and gives you an easy way to convert it into something more stable, but this is just ridiculous.

I'm just going to have to give this another +1
1911s are a timeless classic in my opinion. Sure there have been copies, and similar guns since, all with their own style, but putting anything with a touch of class into that kit will just ruin it.
For a real handgun, I can possibly see the appeal of stocks/rails etc to beef up a weapon system in a state that dosen't allow general ownership of rifles. In airsoft, there is only the bling factor. And that is not bling. Not even ironic bling.
I've been tempted by the glock kit though. It's got practical aplications, and functionality. Looks nicer too.

Re: 1911 Carbine conversion kit
I'm interested in it depending on what stock they stick on it.
The real ones don't have a stock but do come with an AR-15 stock adapter so fingers crossed they put something decent looking on it.
The main reason I'm interested is because I already own 2 1911s and plan on a 3rd so I'll have plenty of mags and seeing as my local CQB site is semi only a nice GBB carbine would be just the ticket.
Also imagine the FPS boost running a longer barrel in it would give you, I'd bet it would give some AEGs a run for their money in woodland. Hell I bet you could call it a semi auto DMR with the right barrel/silencer combo to up the FPS to whatever the site limits are for those things.

I believe this is the piccie with the stock Evansy wanted?
I think it's real steel...
Presuming the model shown in first post was the hera-arms model...?

Not really.
I can get 25-30m torso shots with my 1911 as it is now.
It could be modded to fit a detonics too. All you would need to do is drill new holes to line up with holes for the detonics grips.

If they made it with that stock and kept the price in line with the glock kit I'd buy it in an instant but seeing as that's a £100 stock I can't see them fitting that and keeping the kit price under £50.
