Re: 'Hornbill' SA80 RIS handguard
It is, but it's not an exact copy of the dimensions as it will fit an Army/G&G. You were being helpful, don't worry. I'd be quite interested in knowing how you got a DD to fit the ICS if you could do a guide, I know a few people who would I imagine

Yeah it's a copy. But the hornbill is made for the g&g or Amy rifles
Would still like to see how sturdy these feel once installed on a rifle

Find this funny, everyone is clambouring for this and the squaddies in Stan are dumping them and returning to the old system, they are uncomfortable and get extremely hot to handle..lol

Re: 'Hornbill' SA80 RIS handguard
The Gripod is part of the problem, to large on the diameter to hold comfortably, and when deployed, raises the weapon to far off the ground. Most of my mates have been buying off the shelf parts from magpull etc to replace it, which is ridiculous, why should squaddies pay money to make their personal weapon comfortable?

So would plastic mate, and i can't see how they just switch over to the old style, as they are not allowed to I'm guessing.
Anyways, very nice George

Re: 'Hornbill' SA80 RIS handguard
Because its thier
PERSONAL
weapon?
same goes for thier Kit,
all soldiers are issued with OSPREY Armour, but most of them give it back and go buy thier own custom vests because they are generally better value and better quality. most of my mates who are on AFGHAN swapped thier OSPREY for a WAS RICAS in TAN

thats no different with anyone, yanks do it as well.
"this is my rifle this is my gun there are many like it but this one is mine"
it rings very true, some will find the gripod comfortable others not.
the DD rail system though was essential
electrical tape and a torch werent cutting it anymore.
