G&G Combat Machine AEG CM16 Raider-L DST (Tan)

So I bought this gun last week as a main gun to use in Reading as my other M16 fires at 350fps But I was very please with this and may even use this as my general use gun (once upgraded ofc).

To start with it was £139.99 which in my opinion for a G&G gun was good. It's 90% plastic but is very solid and feels great, plus it weighs next to nothing!

Comes in the standard super cool g&g box with a bag of bb's and a metal hi-cap mag (450 rounds).



The sliding stock is great and has 4 slots for the different lengths and has a metal flip up sight.



Has the usual trademarks etc. So I took this badboy mostly apart, didn't touch the gears etc as I didn't want to ruin my brand new gun which was pretty easy and I didn't break it!



Has a metal gearbox and such and a plastic hop-up which felt pretty strong when I tried to move the dial.



Bit disappointed that it was palstic but nothing a few ££ can sort out.

Have not fully tested it yet as my new battery and charger are still i nthe post (Doh) but I used a mates battery and it was great. Also the bullet ejection flap thing does not open when you cock the gun you have to manually hold it open with was a downer for me.

Pros:

• Very strong
• Great value for money
• Parts easily accessible
• Great range and rof
• Awesome fire selecter switch, has a nice click to it

Cons:

• It is palstic so there is the possibility it can break easier
• Plastic hop-up
• I bought a new G&G mag and it fitted much better than the one that came with it.

I have since bought a tan looking grip and some other bits I will add the pics after work

I have seen a lot of these recently and I do think they are the best basic M4 you can pick up.
Gearbox internals are much better than most expensive aegs and they shoot very well out of the box.
Compression is very good so they can sometimes be a little hot even on a M100.
The externals while plastic are actually very strong however very lightweight.
The hop up is very effective right out of the box and holds setting well.
even the BBs that come in the box are of good quality !

I want to invest in 1 of these when they are back in stock at zeroone as want it to take to my first outing at the Mall, will go for the optional m90 and bushings aswell

Is the front RIS plastic???

I bought the version with out ris and then 2 weeks later saw this on Z1. O well anyway what kinda fps is it doing because mine was about 360 and i ended up buying a muzzle reducer.

Yes!! The RIS is plastic on the CM16 Raider. There is a version with a Metal RIS and blowback for £170 (Z1 prices) which is the GR15 Raider.

You dont need an M90 mate they fire at under 330fps out the box so perfect for CQB limit. I would spend the extra £30 on getting a GR15 with a metal RIS, you wont be dissapointed. (Not that Im knocking the CM16, just something about a plastic RIS)

my CM has fired 366 on a faulty chrono and 306 on a normal one

That would be the GR16 mate for £150 from zeroone you get a plastic M4 without a RIS (commando style) but WITH blowback. The gun being reviewed has a plastic RIS but hasnt got the blowback and costs the same.

yh, got one of these to start a custom gun. Pics in my thread in pictures and poss on profile. It was a very solid gun, but it look even better now. Can list the mods if people want.

Ye this is the non-blowback one with a plastic ris. God I hope it does under 340 fps lol

no, they dont mate,

they only open it up if you add onto the order

If you ask them to chrono it ,they should do as that requires no opening up of the gun and they should be sure that the aegs they sell are under Uk site limits if you request it
