      Re: Support tactics.

I find that although yes, hicaps mean everyone can support, support guns have an advantage in this because they can have longer, tighter barrels, larger batteries and a box mag.

That said, its not much of a difference...

        Re: Support tactics.

I was looking to get an m60 for the suppprt role but if desired I would like to be able to run round shooting like rambo does as well if needs be. Its a shame such restrictions are in place on some sites because less people want to take on the support role.

Longer barrel make naff all difference, and anyone can put a TB barrel in a MP5, pop a 4300mAh battery in the stock and use a 3000rd box mag should they wish.
Oh, and FYI the CA M249 Para & Mk1 takes mini batteries as standard, go figure!
As a long time owner of a M249, there really isn't any 'need' for a support gun in airsoft unless you're playing Milsim or at sites that don't allow box mags/hi-caps. However, there's always the 'cool factor'

            Re: Support tactics.

no offence intended but in my experience "support gunners" in airsoft are usually rotund gentlemen who can't be arsed to do the leg work.

if they deployed the tactics mentioned by arnie013 - they would be very effective imo.

shooting off 50rnd "bursts" is just daft.

                        Who said I can't?

I suppose your AEG weighs more does it?

Yup, add to that 2 bags of BBs, spare battery, food, water, pistol, spare pistol mags and if I'm running my USMC SAW Gunner loadout that includes my OTV with Kevlar inserts, then you know you've done a days skirmishing afterwards
