Re: Hostages... Take them or kill them?
I think it would be a great idea. Obviously no running tackles etc but to surrender and hold them for 5-10 min would be cool. I would have a time limit as most teams would want their player back so the whole game would go off course taking the aim away from planting the bomb or capturing the flag.
Would be cool though
. I'd cature them hold them then shoot them lol. Nothin like being cruel

Re: Hostages... Take them or kill them?
Im not sure it would be good idea for ALL game mods, like if its say some kind of defuse a bomb scenario or something definitely not, i think it should pritty much stay to scenarios were there is suppose to be hostages for instance, played a match a couple of months ago were 2 guys were given a breafcase and they didnt no what was in it but they had to go to the other side of the sight, silently capture an enemy then they are aloud to open the breakcase (turned out to be a pistol with 5 rounds) and they had to get him to the other side without being shot WAS AMAZING lol ended up some sniper got them :/ lol wouldnt have loved to have been that sniper

Re: Hostages... Take them or kill them?
We do a version of a hostage game where we march players through the site to a designated area, where they are set to work building a compound/barrier of sorts, the POW's are allowed to carry hidden pistols or knives, and they try to escape, once they escape to a certain marked area, they are then declared free, and can go back to the safe zone and arm up and can help the remaining POW's attempt to escape, still tweaking this game at present, with guards on single shot only and more POW's than guards, but it is a fun game, something different from the normal attack and defend games. Lots of knife kills as well, something satisfying about them, or is just me!!!

Re: Hostages... Take them or kill them?
Always good fun to medic a enemy, then immediately knife kill the poor guy. The look on the faces is great. Sometimes its good to take them prisoner, ask them to take out their mag and 'interrogate' them, now when I say 'interrogate' lets be sensible, its some friendly banter coupled with the honesty of airsoft. I ask you a question about your defense, how many objectives youve got and you answer truthfully. After 5 mins you bleed out. It adds some fun to the game, also if your taken prisoner and are following your captors about there is sometimes a good chance that theyll get wasted and youll get mediced by your own team and save yourself a walk back to the safezone. You then get to medic your captors and immediately knife them, great stuff. Without soundling like a tosspot this is an area of the advanced rule section and usually carried out on players who have played awhile.

Re: Hostages... Take them or kill them??
I like the idea. I'd love to be captured but have my Glock 26 in my under-trouser holster and escape. Off the OP, but Mattplus, where did you manage to get a TM glock 18 from?

Re: Hostages... Take them or kill them??
It is dependant on the hostage rules, I had one at CSU a couple of years back, the rules were to capture intel carriers (I was one of them) You could bump off the hostages but you missed out on vital intel, the other one was you kept them alive but you had to waste a member of your team for it, The rule on keeping was 1 person had to have a hand on the hostage at all times so they cant do a runner, however when they let go of you it was fair game. So the guy holding me let go and to repay the favour I dropped a BFG at their feet bearing in mind the whole team was there so 20+ people with one BFG and I managed to get into cover before it went off, lots of swearing from them and manic giggeling from me I stolled off to regroup with my team and told them exactly what the enemy plan was. Mwhahahahaha.

Re: Hostages... Take them or kill them??
We did a 'special' game near christmas time at my local site. We had to capture enemies dressed as father christmas, and keep them hostage. However, one was captured and guarded by a hire kit player. Taking advantage of this, the santa player told him to go and join in with the fighting, which the player promptly did. The 'hostage' then just walked off and regrouped with his team!

Re: Hostages... Take them or kill them??
Personally, I enjoy these extra kinds of rules in airsoft- I think it adds another aspect to the game, especially if there is a bonus for managing to obtain a hostage- extra points or whatnot. My only personal experience with captures and the like- outside of pilot games or whatever, was during a night game a few years back. Two sneaky gits got the drop on me and effectively knife killed me, but decided to take me prisoner insted. Got dragged back to their base and had to give them the magazines for my rifle (nice touch- meant I was unarmed but didnt have to hand over my precious M16) and my pistol.
I was more than a little frustrated (at myself) that I had got captured and would have to spend 30 minutes in 'prison', but fourtunately for me, 'escapes' were allowed.
After trying to make a break for it (didn't go well), I actually got lucky when my guard heard something outside and went to have a look. Grabbed my mags and legged it. Was actually quite fun- as i said, I enjoy things that are a bit different, and being a POW was a laugh- especially considering that me and bloke who were guarding me were making endless 'Great Escape' jokes. That, said, I was already getting bored with just sitting there, and was glad I got the chance to make a break for it. I was also glad that if I hadnt, I would have been allowed back to my own base in another ten minutes or so. Certainly taught me a lesson about awareness. Plus I was a glad the two guys who got me were kind enough to 'capture' me rather than blast me from a meter away in the pitch dark.

Re: Hostages... Take them or kill them??
Perhaps it would be a nice idea if prisoners were encouraged to try and escape from their captors if they had the chance, e.g. if a player gets taken prisoner they might be forced to sit down in a room that's out of the way so as not to cause too much trouble for the captors, however if the captors' attention is else where it might be possible for the prisoners to make their escape...
When we did it, we stormed the room with flash bangs and instead of shooting at them at extreme close range we just yelled "Drop your weapons!", fortunately they did and it worked for us but they could have started shooting back (as most players probably would) and we probably would have ended up getting shot ourselves.... I think the emphasis in airsoft for most people is more about shooting than actually surviving and getting the mission objective done, this I'm guessing with a huge survival instinct probably isn't the case with real militaries as the penality for being a hero could be death instead of getting stung a bit by a 6mm plastic BB.
However with all this in mind, it would still be the would-be prisoners' choice whether they decided to surrender or "fight to the death", if the would-be prisoner decides on the latter then they don't run the risk of getting shot to hell but are then at the mercy of the captors. Pros and Cons for each and however un-fun it might be to be taken prisoner for 20 minutes or so that is the risk but it saves being shot and there might be a chance to escape later...

Re: Hostages... Take them or kill them??
The Mall plays this rule often and after, I think, 10 minutes they head of to respawn. Basically what you have done is taken two, or possibly three players out of the game for hopefully, and important amount of time.
