don't put clear covers on, or try to use a scope with covers down.. what appears to be clear will mess magnification of the scope etc..
not that bb's will hit a crosshair too often.. but no point making it worse.

just buy scope extentions they're rubber the one for the eye side are common but not sure about the objective

I always had this problem with my Susat when I was in army. I used to carry and little bit of cloth on some para cord round my neck to give to eye piece a wipe when it started steaming upp. Was a pain in the arse but i couldnt really find much else to stop it.
Tried washing up liquid, anti-mist sprays etc but none worked very well.
