    Re: Sniping Hints & Tips

Sorry for the double post... I've realised my above post sounds rather rude, it wasn't intended mate.

I think using holdover and windage ddots would be usefull as , wind does effect the ball , a lot more than even a air rifle pellet would.
We use breathing techniques and wind watching at ranges up to 50m with air rifles, ranging using focus sidewheels and using the milldots for wind is a good idea even with air soft, as you have a lot less power to start with

Two main things to remember when sniping? (airsoft sniping)

Firstly, learn your sites minimum engagement rule for snipers, then STICK to it, if in doubt, dont take the shot, or you risk getting smacked in the mouth!

Secondly, look around you in basecamp, during the main brief, if your team is surrounded by pre pubesant two tone snipers, L96 weekend warriors and the likes... pop back to your kit bag and grab your aeg, get stuck in with the rest of your team, you'll get plenty more kills, and the rest of the aeg totting players wont hate you!

Dont get me wrong, a talented sniper can be key to clearing out dug in enemy, or picking off enemy snipers, but theres nothing more annoying than being pinned down, to look back at your team for assistance, only to see half of them, 50m+ away, poncing around in the tree's like kids on thier first cub camp, with no skill, stealth or clue what thier doing....

          - ive said time and again that airsoft stuff is not accurate enough.

as long as you aren't shaking around like santa's belly then you will be fine.

trigger control is arguably important but again it is a moot point.
          - basically squeeze - don't snap.

learning to adjust for windage is a good one - essentially aim off slightly.
the good thing about airsoft sniping is that is isnt very loud so if you do miss chances are the guy you shot at didn't notice. and if he did = you have his head down.

it all boils down to practice practice practice. you get to the point where you won't touch a rifle for a year or two - pick one up and make very difficult head shots. - it all becomes second nature.

          best of luck

watch some of the 1944 German sniper training videos on youtube! they are brilliant.

actually a few good points too.
