barrel nut for a madbull mk18 ris

HI GUY,

can anyone suggest a way i can fit a madbull mk18 ris to a g&p body? when i bought it never came with the barrel nut so need to find a replacement or a different type of nut that will fit onto the g&Ps

In the past when I was unable to get a another barrel nut I would cut down the g&p's standard barrel nut, takes time but it can be done

so reuse the one i currently have now thats on the delta ring? i have full use of lathes so can cut down quite easy

Airsoft machine shop should be able to make you a custom one :D

I done exactly what johnnyj said, Just cut the original g&p nut with a hacksaw. Worked perfectly.

did you have to cut it down much? i may just look into doing this nothing to loose i guess as if it fails ill order a new one lol

Cut about 2mm back from the cog and that should do it. If it needs more took off just file it down.

sounds easy enough ill just stick it on the lathe and face it down abit keep it tidy then

cant cut the barrel nut down as its a delta ring one? and im replacing it for a free float rail system any ideas??? plus the barrel nut isnt coiming off had to order a wrench lol

If you want to make life easy, either get the correct barrel nut - which Madbull sell seperately (the stock one supplied with the Madbull Mk18 is metric, the G&P receiver is imperial), buy the ViperTech Daniel Defense barrel nut (which is imperial thread), or modify the thread on your receiver to accept the stock Madbull barrel nut. This can be done with a small file with a triangular cross section and an hours work.

As to the company mentioned by ElZeO, the owner of that company can go screw himself. The quality of his work was terrible when he was running a PTW specialist (as I know to my own cost), not to mention his shady business practices.

they sell the madbull ones for a g&P body but noone has them instock untill next month..... where will sell the viper tech ones? i did try lathe mine down and rethread it as i have all the tools but didnt work

You can use the G&P delta ring mate, its exactly what I done. Just take it apart untill your left with this (pic below) then cut the cog off with a hacksaw. 10 minutes and I had mine done and fitted.

sweeet never knew that hoefully the wrenchwill turn up so ill try again to take it off then just cut the cog off as it would be no use to me anyways

You might need to heat the barrel nut while your doing it, g&p barrel nuts are notoriously hard to get off. Good luck with it

ok i got gas bottles at work i can heat up a little lol, if worse came to it and reciever cracked its fooked anyways
