Changed motor over for a working one I think it's internal so must be that then

Yep id second stripped piston. Not too expensive to replace
Anything unusual happen when it started becoming a problem? Sound funny or cycle bad?

Sounds more like a gear problem from here.
If you pull the trigger when in semi auto and the power cuts off, then that would point to piston issues, if not (same noise without cutout) for both fire modes than that points to the gear train.

This is not a motor issue as you have stated that you switched the motors out only for the same thing to happen.
Like Sniperjesus said if the motor only works in short bursts on semi then its likely the piston has stripped as the sector gear operates the semi auto lever inside the gearbox.
However from the sound the AEG is making it sounds like the Bevel gear maybe at fault as i cannot hear the rest of gears spinning I could be wrong as the sound is being recorded on a phones mic.
