Someone to fix my gearbox please!
25 December, 2010, 19:19
Looking for someone who's good with Gearboxes to fix a brand new one I have thats locked. Paid work obviously, but would have to be no more than £15 or I'd rather take it to my local shop. The last gearbox they fixed for me is broken do would rather have someone else fix it up nice and quick!

Re: Someone to fix my gearbox please!
look in the bottom where the motor pinion goes and hook a allen key in there to pull the anti rev lever away from the gear thats what i do when mine lock up saves money and sometimes only need doing the once

Aha! Will give that a try. Don't Spode you have a picture that would show me exactly which bit I am hooking and trying to free up?

Ok, if I can't free it up myself, it'll be on it's way to you! It has reenforced wires, would you be able to attach a fuse to it?

Re: Someone to fix my gearbox please!
Depending on where the wires are ect. The bit you are looking for its when you look down into the GB through the pinion hole there is a gear and then resting on that its a little bar. Grab the bar with a pair of plyers the rotate the gear and pull the latch. If you can't rotate the gear theres somthing else wrong.

Ok, think I see the bit I need to get. Do I want to hook it, and pull it towards me?
Here's a terrible picture I took!

Thanks. Do I pull it towards me, or push it away?

Towards. Would might need to take the pressure off it by turning the gear.

Ok will do.
Which way do I turn the gear from the position in the photo? Clockwise or anti?
Sorry to ask so many questions, last time I tried this I ended up having a gearbox with a snapped selector gear. So I wanna get it right!
