When you took the Motor out did you look inside the gearbox where the motor goes in to see if there is any debris?

ive sorted the problem thankyou very much for all your help there was a very very small screw head jamed in the second gear next to the anti reversal latch taken it out now and it works and sounds better now so i think it may have been bouncing around for a while

theres no screws missing i think it was from a clean before... just a random :S
