Systema pistons are known to be terrible. The one part they didn't get right.

My A&K m249 is my most upgraded gun. I did the work myself. Parts:

        CA highspeed gearset
        CA highspeed motor
        TM hop rubber
        Systema Piston
        TM piston head
        TM O-ring
        TM cylinder
        TM cylinder head
        1J spring

345fps, awesome rof, great range, average accuracy.

my tm m4a1 was similar, chronoed at 250 max , but with a 1 joule spring and a regrease 340 fps average ,actually higher than i was expecting i only wanted 328fps

              Re: TOKYO MARUI m4a1 range..

My TM M4A1 hits about 320 FPS with an M100 spring.

As it's been said, check the spring and the air seal nozzle. My advice is to get a new one of each if you can M100 springs will keep it firing nice at a good FPS.

                Re: TOKYO MARUI m4a1 range..

M100s vary in TM guns. I put one in my Sig 551, came out at 345, then settled at 365 after 100ish shots. Piss.

                Replaced with a 1J.

                  Re: TOKYO MARUI m4a1 range..

                  That's absolutely correct TKOS.

My P90 hits 350 FPS on an M100. My AUG? 325-ish.

                  My M4A1, 315-320.

                  Brother's G36C? About 325.

It's strange, must vary depending on the gearbox and air seal nozzle or something..

                      Re: TOKYO MARUI m4a1 range..

Just for info - My TM M4A1 has had a M100 and metal bushings added and was crono at exactly 328 FPS (strarted at 340 but settled in) and my range is brilliant...

It dpepnds on little things, quality of airseal/hop unit/rubber/piston head. All that stuff that can potenially lose air.

if your airseal is poor, a new spring won't make 'that' much difference.

have your handyman check the compression in the cylinder to ensure a good seal on both piston head and cylinder head. also check your nozzle.

ensure that the hop rubber is still in good condition.

check for any lines or imperfections on the new barrel.

if that is all fine, then put a stronger spring in, and don't forget to replace the plastic bearings for metal ones.
