New Spring - Still bad FPS?
15 August, 2009, 21:58
Well, got a classic army G36K here a few days ago.
Chronoed at around 250fps using the stock spring.
Upgraded by putting an Element M105 spring in (345fps). Now chronoes at 245fps...
Any ideas?

Yawn. Got a non CA V3 gearbox to hand? Check the respective lengths of the space where the spring sits. In V2 boxes the spring space is significantly longer.

Re: New Spring - Still bad FPS?
I'd have expected more with a M105 though. My V2 CAs have run around the 320 fps mark with M100s

Re: New Spring - Still bad FPS?
The only other V.2 I have is in my M4A1, and she works fine... I can't imagine the difference in length should change much, not when it's less than an inch.
Could it be any of these problems:
Lube on gears is sticky rather than fluid
Air Seal Nozzle not attached fully - pressed down into tappet plate enough
Not enough lube overall
Poor piston
The spring is a real bitch to get in, holding a lot of tension, much more than the original one that was in there. Hate having to open the Gearbox(es) up when they are stiff springs. But will do so if necessary!

Re: New Spring - Still bad FPS?
Sounds to me like youve got a rubbish air seal! try to get a new piston o-ring and then get the nozzle attached properly.
