IMAX B6 Charger Help
6 April, 2012, 20:36
Hi,
I just got my gun back from a shop where it was repaired and upgraded including the switch to lipo batteries. The one I was supplied is a 9.9V 1500mah LI-Fe.
Now I have gone through and set up my IMAX charger for this, into settings an select 3.3v li-fe. Then into charge life, select 9.9v 3S with 1.5A. I start the charge and after a minuite or so it says full, with the cells Having reached around 3.6v.
It won't go higher than that. I cannot see what I'm doing wrong, is the unit faulty or what!?
Please help if you can.
Thanks

Re: IMAX B6 Charger Help
if it is a new battery mate, then the battery is full
also when the battery is on charge is the balancing lead in the white block slot ??
as the imax will bleep and say full when the battery is perfectly full
but ..... the new imax units needs to be tweaked
as the battery's need to be luke warm to the touch when fully charged
go into the setting and the peak cut off for cell senstivity should be set to 12 or 13 not the standard 9 they come on.
also the unit cut off time 120min
etc etc
then you will get full use of the IMAX also only charge at 1.2 a max on lipo or life battery's any more will rapidly reduce the cells life

Yes the balancing connector is connected.
The battery never got hot, the charger did when I tried to discharge.
I asked this on arnies as well, and they all said its also due to te LI-fe not being strong enough, and I should buy a lipo. That's what I'm going to try.
