check the trigger sear , and also check the acutal piston rim for flat spots where it has worn , if you can see a worn part on the piston spin it til it is away from the sear ,

also check the trigger mech screws have not come loose as this can cause the sear slipping also

no problem mate , if it is the screws , get hold of some instaweld , then re tap them , or just use bigger thread screws like i did then thread lock

There are trigger pull adjusters? I assume you checked on those?

Thats the thing there is no pin! this is a JG cyclinder unit so there isn't a locking pin holding the Head steady...

            Any other ideas?

gamble , try wrapping it in a towel and putting it in a foam lined vice to open it up

i put another sear in to my vsr and im still have the same problem. its pulls back fine and will stay there solid. it only slams when i start pushing the cylinder forward.

Sounds Like the trigger sear is not holding mate

Sorry if this is off topic but...

I want to get my VSR at 420FPS.

Is my list of upgrades required good enough? Or do I need more...

I dont want to spend £100 on the Teflon Cylinder, Is there a cheaper one that will do the job for my rifle?

                      Cheers

for 400 mate , all you need to do is change the sears and spring , with barrel spacers it will be ok ,

but if you want to change the spring guide and stopper , by all means do so ,

and , no the only teflon cylinder is THE teflon one mate , or you can use lithium greas spray on the inside of the bolt carrier housing and a smidgin on the bolt itself to reduce friction

Are the any other Cylinders? Or do I not need to upgrade one for a 400FPS rifle?

no there are no other cylinders mate , only the normal stock one and the laylax teflon one ,

but ive heard of a few people CAD manufacturing their own cylinder from aero space material, but they work at rolls royce aerospace so have the tools to do so ,

other then that mate , either stock or teflon

Will the stock be reliable at 400FPS?

And I have no experience with Bolt action tech, so would getting someone to upgrade the Sears for me for a small ammount of the money be reasonable?

                              Cheers

yeah mate, the stock cylinder will be fine at 400

the teflon one is just to make the action smoother, along with teflon grease

and to get someone to change your parts over will be good , only if they know what they are doing

or take it to your local techie at your local site
