Well I have an L85A2...and a TAR 21...both are great, loving the bull-pup action. Have to say that I am not a fan of the AFV...ugly, just like the Micro-Tavor...if I was choosing one or the other? Well have to be the Tar 21, great looking gun, well built, balanced, range, performance..pimp.

Id go with the afv, look how many people above have Tar or would go for the Tar. Kick the trend get the afv, loooks diffrent will definatly turn heads and if your going for a british kit out will set you aside from all the L85 A2's out there as well.

Can't disagree with Hypnose about the sexiness of the l86:

I just can't find a sexy picture of the afv, no matter how hard I try.

But, being Israeli, the Tavor manages it:

owning a TAR and having played with the L85 but the normal full length one the TAR is a much better replica imho nicer fee to it smoother operation and mag changing is easy as flicking ur wrist back where as u gotta faf around with the L85 bolt catch for easy hop access nice and a hot swap gearbox, the newer full length tar doesnt have the mars unit making it cheaper but the mars unit is a pile of poop so not worth the extra £90ish, range on the tar is awesome and rate of fire is better and accuracy is amazing

With respect, that's non-sense. I've had a Star L85A2 for almost 4 years and it runs and runs accurately. I've had a ARES/ Star Tavor for several months and it runs and runs accurately. They are both the MOST physically solid robust airsoft weapons on the market. ICS are great quality but still don't quite measure up to Star- very very close though! The Star /Ares is also the closest in build and weight terms to the real steel. The RAF have used them in Helicopter borne training operations in the UK where real steel weapons over civilian areas are not allowed.

I have several mates who have the Star L85A2- some for several years and they have not modified them and yet still get great consistent and accurate service. The weapons look very worn but deliver when you most need it.

Of course there'll be some owners who experience issues- many are those who try to mod/ upgrade for the sake of it and then have problems.

The Choice of ARES L85 AFV or Tavor I think comes down to which load-out you want. If it's Brit then no choice but AFV. If nationality is not a consideration then I'd go for the ARES TAVOR- it's a great rifle (with M4 length barrell) for CQB and Woodland. It's also great in vehicles and is an incredibly solid weapon.

i dont like star but Ares have up`d the game and the tar has a metal box not a plastic one making it better, but still the hop unit is a modified m4 type that mounts in the gearbox so u have to split the box to get it off
