apparently he didn't know they'd be sticking his ass with a tetanus when he got back to hospital. I'd have loved to have seen his face. "in my what?!!"

I stepped on some plywood at UA which had a nail in it, hurt like you wont believe, when i got to A&E and they took it out, i rolled up my sleeve for the jab, saw the needle and thought "that's not going in my arm". Passed out an woke up a minuite later and the nurse still hadnt jabbed me.

in one instance a guy fell over and cut his arse cheek open (Seriously - gotta be the most embarrasing injury EVER!)

That's certainly not the most embarrasing injury, but it probably ranks up there with the best of them. I triaged a squaddie in A&E (I trained at an MoD Hospital Unit) that got impaled on a branch through his scrotum while on exercise in the woods.

I've also nursed fully grown (straight) men with sex toys stuck in their rectums. To be fair, he wasn't airsofting at the time, though.

I've yet to play my first game of airsoft (hopefully I'll be kitted out and ready within a month) but, well, this thread isn't exactly the most encouraging!

I got half of one of my front teeth shot out. The bb took out half the nerve in the process. Two trips to the dentist, 2hours of dental surgery and £396 later, back to normal.

Worst part is, it was my first time airsofting.

I've yet to play my first game of airsoft (hopefully I'll be kitted out and ready within a month) but, well, this thread isn't exactly the most encouraging!

Well, wear a full face mask, boots, a hat and some gloves, and you'll be just fine. It's an active hobby, people are pumped on adrenalin, running around through the woods, or fighting from room to room, it's going to get messy once in a while. As long as you're sensible, and do all you can to be safe and promote the safety of others, there's nothing too much to worry about. Accidents happen, that's life.

I cracked a rib once, during an urban game at the old Lightfighter urban site - slipped sideways while sneaking around a building and my torso landed on some raised concrete. Got no sympathy from my wife or painkillers from the doctor

The worst though, happened when I was stepping up over some exposed tree roots during a woodland game and felt a massive pain in my knee, so bad I just fell and rolled over. I couldn't put any weight on it, so got carried back to to the safe zone. It had swollen up like a balloon and I couldn't straighten it.

A day later and still no better, I went to the doctor - they referred me to a knee specialist through Bupa and he diagnosed a 'locked' knee - probably due to torn cartilage - and the next week I had keyhole to try to sort it out.

Unluckily, it wasn't a simple clean up of a piece of torn cartilage, it was locked due to a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament, so I left hospital with a very unstable and weakened knee.

After a month of physio I saw the consultant again and he recommended a reconstruction operation (cutting a hamstring and drilling and fixing it to the bone to form a new ligament), and after that I've spent the last 12 months working on knee strength and stability exercises.

I'm easing myself back into airsoft - mostly woodland and steady weekend games - I'll be a long time before I do any crazy door kicking CQB,,,

The worst I had was a broken tooth and a pulled arm ligament (or wtv).
I fell to the ground with face down and to avoid any damage to my face, I protected it with the right arm. However the fall was too strong and the arm suffered some damage in the shoulder and shoulder muscles. For 3 months I had pain and I couldn't even do a push up.

Compared to what I've seen here and what I saw in a site that is rather nothing special.
The worst I've seen was a fall from 7m high to concrete. the guy was completly wrecked and suffered back damage, broken his legs and ribs. He left in a pool of blood.

Not really serious but most airsoft games my RSI really hurts late into the game. Too much computers...

Iv had a twisted ankle shot in the face a few times but nothing more than that, after reading some of the above stories i feel quite lucky lol
