Re: why has my thread been closed?
My 2p worth - IF there is a SOPMOD owners "club" then by defacto they, the mods HAVE to allow other owners to have theirs too.
Its called equality, political correctness or whatever other bollocks name the PC brigade/mods want to use - the one they seem to forget is FAIRNESS.
If they want to lock the Sentry - then lock the SOPMOD - simplez.
I think certain of the mods have forgotten what their title is short for - MODERATOR, i.e a person who moderates the content, etc in a fair and equal manner to ALL parties.
Maybe they should think about that before they have their next power trip.

Re: why has my thread been closed?
Really the SOPMOD owners club should be called the Tokyo Marui recoil series AEG owners club, its just that Semper Fi decided to call it SOPMOD...
Looks like someone saw the future

Actually, this is a privately owned forum, so they don't HAVE to do anything...

No 'they' don't HAVE to do anything, no one does. Though if 'they' want to have the respect from users then they should be a little more less hitler like.
Admittedly I know there's 1 mod that's reasonable but the rest need to lighten up a little.
Oh and this is a public forum, being a moderator you prob should know that but hey. Here's a basic meaning of both.
Public forum: free to use and free sign up and free to view by all.
Private forum: closed to general public, admittance usually via invite or payment of fees.
Just because it's owned by someone doesn't determine the type of forum, all forums are owned and funded by someone, somewhere.

I'm not a moderator, if you'd noticed I have no moderator title. I thought that was obvious, but hey...
Oh, and it may be a public forum, but it's still privately owned like I said, unless you'd like to dispute that as well?

Sorry, sales assistant, not mod, my bad.
Did I deny it was privately owned? No.

Re: why has my thread been closed?
Am not suggesting this, am just talking hypothetically.
Mods don't
have
to do anything, you're absolutely right- there is no one person or group of people holding guns to the mods' heads demanding something be done.
But... As mentioned it is a public forum and if it isn't run the way people like they will just leave and find another airsoft forum to post on, infact am willing to bet that atleast 25% of Zero In's members are also members on other airsoft forums, so to keep members happy decisions should be made to an extent like a democracy, or people will just get p***ed off and leave. So really, mods aren't being physically forced to do anything, but it's like a duty to keep the forums going- no members = pretty crappy forums...
Again am not suggesting this, please don't ban me.

You didn't correct me though did you, as I said nothing that's incorrect, you just feel the need to get involved in any discussion that involves this forum's moderation
Interestingly, the old ASCUK forum was MUCH more strictly run than this forum, way more, and yet still had a HUGE user base

You are absolutely correct. Maybe it's time that the big head honcho mod looks at his mod team, the practices they use and maybe re-address some issues as this forum, being a branch of the retailer zero one just reflects badly on them when users have bad experiences. In a time of people being a bit less well off as well, not really what most retailers are after in my opinion.

Re: why has my thread been closed?
Maybe being strict isn't such a bad idea, but is/was it being run consistantly? I think that's the major issue most people are referring to.

Hardly the truth. But that's your opinion.

And why, because of a decline in forum activity? No, because they guy that owned/ran it simply had enough. Oh wait, but it was a public forum, can that be allowed...?
And what happened to it's replacement, that's still run way more strict than this forum and refuses to spoon feed people? It's doing fine actually...

From a personal point of view, that is one of my biggest causes of annoyance LOL (along with the aforementioned rude and abrasive moderators) You go on a thread wanting gun pics for inspiration and each page has maybe two or three pics and then a million posts saying something like 'WOWZ, yours am bestest gun' or similar drivel.
In my opinion, threads like that should have a caveat in the title like similarly themed threads on other forums I frequent (not just airsoft) stating that 'posts without pics will be deleted'
