Thats the one! - I thought it was brilliant. Although, my respect to those who do this as their living, I don't think I could manage being 100% alert all the time.

Name and shame!
I was watching a documentary on private contractors, what stuck in my mind a bit was, cut-down AKs - How difficult is it to modify them? Looking at doing that as I think it looks quite practical.
A wee question regarding magazines, how many pistol mags would you normally carry as well as armalite/AK?
Cheers.
Na not my style naming and shaming but i will have a few kind words for them if i bump into a skirmish field.
Ref mags etc.
my current set up is as follows. will send a pic later.
1 ak47 with 5 x mags 1 in weapon (at all times)
1 pistol with 3 x mags 1 in weapon (at all times)
1 x smoke grenade(although contractors are not allowed them , they are still invalubale as they work for effective escape. (used 3 days ago getting client out of a sticky situ)
1 x gerber folding knife
1 x curved knife sereated for seatbelt if you need to take control of vehicle
1 x wrist garmin gps.
1 x sat phone
$1000 dollars incase
bug out bag
1 x leatherman
1 x surefire torch
1 x rifle
1 x rifle scope
1 x pack of baby wipes(never know when you might want to bang one out) joke guys
2 x cylumes
1 x extra pistol mags
2 x loose 9mm rounds, (suicide rounds) aint getting head chopped off. 2nd one for me
back up gps
compass
map
pen
orange heli marker banner
$100
glucose tabs
pic of daughter. last thing i will look at before blowing my brains out.
masood and shemagh. blend into envronment better
i will post pics of my plater carrier. that is worn when im on PPO duties (personal protection officer) bodyguard. as it has my chest mount for pistol. dont carry AK then only side arm.
Cross draw and plates underneath is for when we rolling on recce duties , recce our AOs before we deploy there. so have 2 x load outs with bug out incase
oh and have SF helmet copy of MICH 2000 i think but the ballistic version.
ref the pimped out Ak's i have enclosed a pic of my mate and his one , looks the mutts. i prefer stocked version as when in shit it gets straight in shoulder.

Cheers! Much appreciated, I was going to ask about what the insurgents would do if they caught you alive/dead, let alone what they'd do to you but I figured not to.
Thanks again for sharing.

Actually, to get employed for Aegis or other Private security Firms, do you need previous military experience?

to work for big firms most of the time, you have to have some formal experience whether be TA or regs. but if you are just joe bloggs civie and have been involved in security also you also have things you can bring to table. the one thing we all have is specific train Hostile Environment. whether civie or ex military big companies like AEGIS/OLIVE/GLOBAL/SOC/WATAN/COMPASS Etc wont touch you unless a for CP course has been completed ie SIA and most HE course . i had the fortunate life of ex forces doing resettlemet in CP then doing hostile training. but dont be put off by that . one of the best operators i have worked with came from being an insurance salesman and got a lucky break after wanting to try. he was one of best guys around in the market.
CP is a hard game nowadays as afghanistan in the last 24 hours has ceased all security operations for contractors. all the big companies got 24 hours notice yesterday to get out country, i even thought i was coming home yesterday.
but we are a goverment department and on goverment contract we are safe till end of contract. president karzi is being a c u n t but he will no doubt get slotted by someone(lets hope) so we can all get back to working again.
but due to this the UK market over next few months will be flooded by guys. so wait till there is another war IRAN next i think. then get into it , money is shit also . im lucky with this one as im a TL and get great money

Re: Private Security Loadout
Very good to see you pictures and reading your posts mate, thanks a lot for doing that - you didn't have to - and take care.
I know a couple of ex-soldiers who've had procedure pointed out to them by teenagers and other smart-alecs. One of my brothers had his experiences of Bosnia questioned by a bloke who had never been further abroad than Benidorm. Ingore them is usually the best policy, they'll end up looking foolish in public sooner or later.

Re: Private Security Loadout
Your AK looks like an original 47 rather than an AKM. Quite the collectable!
