The belt buckles look like they're from a British issue belt....

1st thoughts were indeed Brit but nope-the female part of the buckle is slightly different to a Brit one-im still going for Dutch or Belg(or similar Nato type).

Not sure about the SEALs but SOG used it during the Nam war. The UZI and the
G3
and HK33 were also used at times.
I've never seen a G3 in SOG Nam pics before. Pics or didn't happen...

At which point I would mount my ride, which is a donkey called Akbar, and charge off into the enemy, lighting the grenades as I go

Re: Seals in Vietnam
Belt is not a 782 web belt(usmc) it is indeed a Dutch issue belt,
If it's usmc it's missing the pop studs !

Re: Seals in Vietnam
Dont think they were actually G3s-cannot remember their official designation but they were the forerunners of what we know now as the G3.

The Seals wore jeans because apparently they were quieter than baggy jungle utilities when wet. The Seals had easy access to them in Vietnam because they were standard US Navy issue. They were also reckoned to last longer than uniform trousers.
Pics snaffled from militaryphotos.net
There's a big picture-heavy thread on there.

Re: Seals in Vietnam
Thats okay then, I thought my google-fu had weakened and prevented me from finding an actual G3 in (US) use in Vietnam.
The T223 is just one of the weapons I have been gathering info on in the past few months. When my site is finished I hope that it will provide a valuable resource to Vietnam airsofters.
