I know quite a lot of people here had been searched by the police. Anyone got their Airsoft gun seized and destroyed by PC?

Dont hear of it very often to be honest. if your a genuine skirmisher there is no reason why they will destory them (unless you have been stupid with them)

Never gunna happen.. I just can’t envision someone encompassing enough stupid to make that happen.

I wouldn't put it past some of them.

Someone I know had a set of LED lights physically ripped from the front of their car by a cop who said they were illegal and if she couldn't remove them she would book them.

I'd imagine that if she'd seen a RIF she may well have overreacted and tried to jump up and down on it!

I have had the police knock on my door. A nosey parker saw me loading a rather obvious rifle bag into the car with a plate carrier and called the local station.

The police knocked on the door one saturday evening just before the mrs was leaving for a fancy dress party. She opened the door to him dressed as a mouse lol !

He then asked if firearms were kept at the house, and she said he needs to have a look as i play airsoft.

So I escorted him to my armoury, and he was well impressed His glock 17 looked just like my tm version.

Its safe to say he left happy without my toys

Nope never heard of it. Never happened to me. Befor Airsoft carrying airguns never been stopped or checked. As they have always been in proper gun bags. Even when walking through a village in view of every body, only ever on the way to or from a gunsmith.

Airsoft guns are all wrapped up and in a holdall zipped up and out of site in the car. When transporting, out of public view at all other times.

Mags are always unloaded and batteries removed.

Just follow simple safety rules and there will be no problems.

it just happen to me, also they left without any paper or notice!

So the Police visited you on Monday morning and took your RIF? Are you legally allowed to own them?

What did you do to cause them to visit you?

Indeed, you must have done something pretty stupid to have them seize it and have the thing destroyed. It may just be held in secure storage, that is what happens the majority of the time. Also, it sounds perculiar they took it without leaving any method of contact or the ability to legally challenge the seizure of your property.

You sure you haven't been taken for a ride?

1 until now, anybody is legal to own an airsoft gun
2 I am a regular skirmisher
3 why the police come to my house is not important.

Erm, I think that is important, I have several friends who are within the constabulary and my cousin and his wife are also. And they have given me feedback before about how they would have to go about seizing anything like a rifle from someone who was found to have been abit foolish with them.

Also, anyone over 18 is allowed an Airsoft 'gun'. Under 18's is pretty much a grey area, the local police just took away an IF from a house after it was seen in a teenagers hands as he took shots at his mates in a childrens play area.

Not having a go, but hoenstly, the Police don't act unless provoked or given reason to seize property and you need to contact the local Police Station who dealt with this matter. There is no reason you shouldn't have been told the why it has been taken and where it will be taken too and who you will have to speak too.

Also, if was going to be destoryed under a certain act, you would be facing court proceedings or a fixed fine too. What is the story here? Are you sure you really had the Police in at all? And not someone simply making off with some or your Armoury? I just looked at your profile and your Armoury is huge! Why did they take one and not them all?

VCRA/UKARA only say you can't purchase
of course I can prove, and I have proved to them yesterday.
and I have just submit through the complaint system.

Have you actually contacted the local police and spoke to them about it? Surely that would be a good start. And how do you know its actually been siezed and destroyed if they left no paperwork or any proof?
