IMO you cannot compare CB to tan/desert/sand
I've got a USMC OTV, and have loaded it up with pouches etc from different sources. They all claim to be Coyote Brown, but none are the same colour. My Admin panel is a darkish brown, the mag pouches are darker but with a green tinge to them, whereas the Bulle OTV & GP pouch are much lighter, very near Tan. So, I'm not sure what Coyote Brown actually is.

Ah, but is it a genuine OTV and what make are the pouches? Various different companies produce their own version of CB

Couldn't agree more, even OD suffers in the same way. Also, some manufacturers mix-up the colours like OD and Ranger Green, CB and tan so the lines between the schemes are often blurred. Especialy true amongst the replica brands, although big name brands can be just as bad with matching colours.
Back to topic, CB works very well in woodland in my experience. Nowhere as good as OD, I like it more since its a newer colour. Brings a bit of variety to the mix, i get a bit bored of OD sometimes.
Tan might not be as good, but its still better than wearing a reflective marshall vest, unless you ARE a marshall lol. Desert stuff looks cool anyway, cus we're all wannabes at heart, wannabes in denial :P
